Rugby league is for professional athletes union is for fat public schoolboys, simple. I'm not a northerner I just happen to live here(apart from Saturdays in the football season)
I prefer Rugby League at club level. It's much more exciting and more skilful than Union Rugby. Australian Rugby League is very exciting. The State of Origin match in Australia is amazing, it's much better than the English Super League. But I prefer Union at International level.
...if rugby was being played in my back garden I would shut the curtains!
Not an original quote, but it sums up my attitude to the game fairly well...have to admit that many many years ago I did go to a few rugby games in Scotland, the sport was OK, but the attitude of their fans towards me as an Englishman put me off the game forever. I now live within a few minutes walk of Gloucester rugby ground and have absolutely no intention whatsoever of going to a game there, I have even passed up an offer of free tickets so that someone who did care about the game could go instead.
London Scottish fan here. Despite being half English, half Welsh.
I quite liked watching Wigan in their pomp, but can't really get on with League at all. Rugby Union is brilliant. Far superior to Association Football.
Usually watch a few game at Quins RL in the summer.
To mutch kicking in Union rather than going for tries for my liking and the rules are two difficult to pick up.
Union is allways going to win on a pole for people based mainly in Sussex as League does not get the exposure down here in terms of people playing or media coverage.
I'm sure we had a thread on this before, and I'm sure I did it! But anyway, I love Rugby League. NRL to the Super League I can watch both, aswell as the state of origin which is simply superb.
