If you listen to some parts of Holst and The Planets you can hear the influence that John Williams received for Close Encounters. Not knocking it mind as that’s a ground soundtrack and my favourite Spielberg’s film.

Saw the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra a year or two back at The Dome and it was an evening of Sci Fi/ Adventure film themes, it was hard to beat the Star Wars theme with a full orchestra I can tell you !

Me and Mark went to an afternoon listening to the Brighton Philarmonic playing Beethoven at the same venue and his only comment was that he would have shagged most of the stringed section given half the chance.
Now that’s culture for you.
