Your Favourite Bits of The Falmer Campaign

Mendoza

NSC's Most Stalked
Its been a decade, and we have the fans have come up with several imaginative ways to highlight our need for a new stadium, not just in the county, but nationwide.

I think we did an amazing job, as whenever Ive met someone new, and they ask what team I support, and I say Brighton, they always ask about the stadium situation 1st.

From protests, to marches, to postcards and flowers - what has been your favourite part of the long campaign?

The Yes Yes one was fun, covering the city with green balloons under the cover of dark. Hanging a huge banner over the motorway at midnight about three years ago was fun as well, especially when the police turned up to arrest us cos they thought we were pikies/students/terrorists, shook our hands when they realised the cause and promptly left us to do as we pleased.

I've hated it all and have immense admiration for all those who have stuck at it.

Difficult to pick a Favourite bit really as it has been a painfull experience ever since the Goldstone closed. Though I guess, all those banners at the Millennium Stadium will live in my memory for a long time. I printed, trimmed and made each and every one of them.

(I must thank my old boss at Tara Signs for letting me use the machinery and materials to do that.)

And they were bloody brilliant old son. I took two down to the Millenium myself. My cap is well and truly doffed.

Getting a single into the Top 20 was brilliant - that's the last and only time I've listened to the Top 40 countdown in the last 10 years!

The "YES, YES" campaign for me. I took a whole week off work to join those at that hotel on Brighton sea-front, going round with the green "YES, YES" t-shirts handing out leaflets, etc.

Me and some other Albion fans went out on the night before the referendum and hung banners over the bridges in support...Whilst we were out doing I we found a "Falmer For Foxes" banner over one of the bridges so I promptly took it down and it is still in my parents loft!!!

Then it was onto the Brighton Centre for the referendum result and everyone piling into the Grand Hotel for champagne. Following this we all went off to an Italian restaurant (not Donatello's!!!) for a meal where the Arse-Gas turned up and took pictures.

All in all, it was good fun.

Albion & England forever.

I have one or two. Visiting John Prescott's office in Hull to deliver the Valentine's Card and his lovely agent.
Falmer Day and the great way we were treated at Millmoor. Finally the look on the Lib Dem's face when he realised that Ned had polled nearly as many votes as him when he had derided the support we were going to get as a Seagulls Party candidate.
