With all the talking about Scholes and Bobby going to the Euros or not and the debate about Rooney, what would be your 23 man squad for the Euros and what would your starting XI be?

I think mine would be...

Hart, Green, Loach

A. Cole, Baines, Lescott, Jones, Rio, Cahill, Walker, Johnson

Walcott, Chamberlain, Gerrard, Parker, Henderson, A.N Other, Sinclair, Young

Rooney, Welbeck, Crouch, Holt

A mix of the 'next generation' to gain experiance and 'old heads' to help them along and give us a chance of doing resonably well.

Out of those I would start with...

Hart

Johnson, Rio, Lescott/Cahill, Cole

Walcott, Gerrard, Parker, Young

Rooney, Welbeck

This is obviously dependant on them all being fit.

Barry, Scholes, Parker, Young, Milner, Lampard, Gerrard

Rooney, Welbeck, Crouch, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott

Interesting that everyone so far has taken Jones ahead of Smalling, even though Smalling has been ahead in the pecking order at Man United.

Mine would be;

Hart, Foster, Carson
Cole, Baines, Walker, Richards, Lescott, Cahill, Jagielka, Smalling
Milner, Walcott, Young, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gerrard, Barry, Parker, Cleverley
Rooney, Welbeck, Sturridge, Carroll

If Woy picks Terry I shall immediately call for his dismissal. If Terry is selected with Ferdinand then an immediate divide will occur in the squad and it'll be same old England!

If he shows strength, which I have a feeling he will, and doesn't select him then I think we have a fighting chance of success this year... and no Scholes for me. Too old and slow, and let his country down when he was needed years ago.

That would be my squad, although I probably would of included Smalling if he wasn't ruled out. Tough one between Crouch and Holt, but I'd go for Crouch as he has the experience and his England goal scoring record is brilliant.

I'd go for a squad of;

Keepers; Hart, Carson, Green

Defenders; Walker, Richards, A Cole, Baines, Jagielka, Terry, Lescott, Cahill

Midfielders; Young, J Cole, Walcott, Lennon, Gerrard, Lampard, Parker, Barry

Forwards; Rooney, Sturridge, Crouch, Defoe

Starting XI;

Hart
Richards Lescott Jagielka Cole
Parker Barry
Walcott Gerrard Young
Defoe (until Rooney is back...)

Some odd choices in the squad I know but Joe Cole has been pretty good for Lille this year and his natural ability has never really been in question. Add his versatility into that and it seems a little daft to not take an in-form, experienced player of his calibre with us.

As for the centre of defence, I wouldn't leave Ferdinand out due to the Terry situation, I'd leave him out as I genuinely believe that he's far enough down the pecking order now that he wouldn't get in, hell, Terry is my 4th choice of the 4 centre backs I'd take. I don't like Lescott but it's difficult to argue that he's been really quite good this year.

Lastly, Defoe. You may think he's an odd choice but he's a natural finisher with 17 goals to his name this season, sort of makes him difficult to ignore in place of Welbeck, who I'm just not that impressed by.

I think you could probably have a 35 man squad and still leave out some great players. Just a shame most of them all play in the same position!

Nobody considering Adam Johnson from Man City?

I think Roy has to take either Terry or Rio, I would like to see Terry dropped however it would make more sense to play Cole Cahill and Terry together as they play alongside eachover at club level.

Quite interesting to see that with Rooney in every squad no-one has gone for 5 strikers seeing as we wont have one of them for 2 games. (myself included)
