Heskey= easy target. Feel sorry for the bloke, he was trying to get the ball, he was just a bit clumsy, it could have been any player.

Rooney was taken off as he was likely to get at least booked by that point, if not sent off. The ref actually did really well at one point by telling him to calm down. Most others would have booked him for that tackle on (I think) Gallas.

The problem with the end of the second half was that we had no aerial presence up front to win the long balls out of defence. No disrepect to Owen or Rooney but they're both short. Heskey did win an awful lot in the air when he came on.

Can't really blame one player, there were a couple of individual mistakes, but overall they all ran their nuts off and played well. Next game we'll all be happy, I'm sure of it.

What game we're you lot watching last night? Certainly was'nt the England match with those scores for James, yeah the free kick he should of stood his ground but he claimed every cross into the box, released the ball to the wingers quickly and efficiently and held onto the very few shots on target. he got an 8!

James 5: Did nothing wrong, but did gave away pen should have been red carded
Cole 7: Gave us width on the left
Neville 6: Some nice long throws but should have supported Beckham the way that Gallas supported Pires
King 7: Assured
Campbell 8: Rock
Scholes: 6 Can't tackle, but neat interplay at times, tended to come in too far from the left to reduce our width
Gerrard 7: Patrolled in front of the defence well
Lampard 6: Great goal but in general was chasing shadows against Vieirra and Zidane
Beckham 6: Worked hard but not enough crosses
Owen 5: Had little service from midfield, not his night
Rooney 8: Firghtened the crap out of them, needs to keep a lid on his head.

Subs:

Vassell 7: Looked pacy and would have scored if Rooney had passed to him
Hargreaves 6: Composed but dull
Heskey -50000: Why oh why oh why is he in Portugal?

James 6: Had nothing to do except twice pick ball out of net, only stayed on the pitch due to Silvestre not being red carded.
Cole 7: Looked dangerous going forward.
Neville 6: As always linked well with Becks but needed to get forward more ala Cole.
King 8: Looked solid but a bit shaky in last 20.
Campbell 8: Had to and did have a solid game besides King.
Scholes 5: Player out of form, never ran with the ball, always turned back on goal.
Gerrard 6: Not the player we have seen all season, worst game all year.
Lampard 8: Good goal, always hassling Zidane/Viera.
Beckham 7: Worked hard, still struggling to adjust to playing wide. Unlucky with penalty.
Owen 5: Didn't know he was playing until he was subbed!
Rooney 8: Always looked dangerous, very unlucky to be taken off. Needs to control his temper.

Subs:

Vassell 7: Typical Vassell performance from bench.
Hargreaves 6: Did Ok!
Heskey 5: Wouldn't have put him on in first place. Typical forwards challenge to give away free-kick.
