And Bloom isn't competitive? He's smart and knows that if aiming higher goes beyond what it takes to keep the club sustainable and we pay over the odds for an average player then we will ultimately have issues further down the road.
If RDZ is as good a coach as we think he is then he will absolutely not allow any frustrations he may or may not have to affect his preparation for the game. No one will have sold the club to RDZ by telling him we are going to spend big on players.
Also who's to say that the signings we have made this window won't be amazing players in a few months with everyone saying "Brighton have done it again - how do they keep finding these gems?"?

i really don’t see it as entitled to be honest. that word gets thrown around a lot, but i don’t think there’s anything wrong with fans wanting us to do better. especially if the very good and promising manager we have also feels that particular way.

i think most would understand the club wanting to remain around 10th and be sustainable. i certainly would. and i would certainly rather that than us overpaying for players and ending up in trouble.

however over the past few months we have clearly been doing something very special on the pitch, and i don’t think you can really blame fans or the manager for being disappointed if they feel the club hasn’t really followed through off the pitch in a way that allows us to attempt to achieve this on a more consistent basis, as opposed to last season being a one-off. i certainly don’t think sneering at people and calling them entitled is very fair. whether or not that is actually the case, only time will tell (though RDZ obviously feels it is), but wanting the club to achieve more is not entitled. what would be entitled would be calling for us to be bought out by a petrostate as it is our right to be achieving at a certain level. but that hasn’t happened

It's not as though any of them are courting him; it's only citizen journalists and tabloid media who are saying he's off to Liverpool - and that's mostly because they're prize pricks who are looking for clickbait. He is nothing like ready for any of the big clubs right now, especially with our defending - they won't touch him with a bargepole until he sorts that out. Big clubs want proven winners.

If he really wants his stock to rise, he stays put, and as he says himself, 'concentrates on the season'.

Some thoughts:
RDZ doesn't like Dahoud so he is gone after 6 months even though some people say that RDZ wanted him. If he did want him, perhaps the club don't want to spend gazillions of pounds on players that RDZ may want but then dumps rather quickly?
In any event we don't buy players for managers, we buy players for the club and if there aren't any available that fit our buying model then that's that. Additionally, even if we had bought a midfielder that was "PL ready", they will not be RDZball ready - that takes some time to get up to speed especially in the vital position of midfield and you may end up with another Baleba.
As for wingers, everyone who is injured is due back this month except Solly, so by the time a winger was up to speed with RDZ ball, everyone else is theoretically available again so new boy wouldn't probably play.
If RDZ gets the hump then so be it. He'll get over it when we win the Europa League.

We only have two wingers. The reason they got injured is they played every game and we couldn’t rotate in or between games. When they return the situation just carries on as before. It’s patently obvious we needed another option the moment March was injured. It’s baffling.

Personally speaking, I don't think RDZ would have any hesitation in just walking away, should he feel it merited.

He won't feel the need to wait around for another club to jump to.

I suspect Luton Town 4 Brighton 0 will have introduced an element of uncertainty re whether RDZ is ready for a bigger club!!!

Bottom line is that it is Tony Bloom's club and Tony Bloom's money. If he has decided to trouser the money from the AliMac and Caicedo transfers, that is his perogative. He knows his stuff and if it means falling short in the cups or not qualifying for Europe again next season then its down to him. With the fortune he has already invested, I couldn't and wouldn't blame him if he wanted to take a "dividend" out.

I wish he would make a short video for Seagulls TV. I always feel better after he explains things. He has done it in the past.
