I went to Waitrose at lunchtime. Asda is nearer but its very common.

I picked up a load of stuff for lunch, and for later, but when I got to the till, it came to £17 and I only had £10 on me.

So I used my card.
I'm not sure if this helps at all?

do as you wish my non-home owning friend  Maybe I can sort you out cheap rent in one of my flats?

or you could just tell me why it is your RIGHT to own a house? Not why you'd rather do it than rent, but why you think you have a right to do so, even if your salary isn't enough to do so comfortably?

Thats a good sized lunch. You could throw some of the leftovers to skint gull if you're passing the railway bridge later. Third box down, the one with the slightly soggy stain on the edge.

You are mistaken. That is my residence. I own the 2nd box too. I have knocked through and made quite the pad!

I have no right to own a house, I was argueing the fact that you don't consider the housing market different now to what it was previously!

Why should a young WORKING family who earn the national average not be able to own their home and (unts like you own several? If you live in country where essentially the state owns ALL the properties then its not so much of a problem, in a country like this it is.

I love your arguement that says: well just go out and earn more. Do you genuinely believe that those earning the national average in years gone by couldn't afford a house.

In 1993 my parents bought their house for 75k.
It is now worth over 300k.
How much has the salary for whatever job you do done up in the past 15 years?
400%?
Doubt it!

Ah, you see, it was only a pastry and a diet coke for lunch. It was the sun dried tomatoes, and stuff that added up.

I don't think poor folk would want any of them anyway. I could perhaps have bought some 'baked beans' or something? they could have one of those wire boxes for them by the exit, like for the cats home?

By the way Soul FInger - fascinated as to what is utter utter reactionary guff about what I have written - very easy to write people off as Daily Mail readers even though I stated I would not read nad have never read that bog roll of a publication.

I suspect though like most self-appointed gurus and fonts of all wisdom that spout their pseudo-intellectual piss on here that once we dig the drains up on what you actually know we would be better off putting Bungle and Zippy in charge of the country.

Dont insult me with comments about what is reactionary guff. Pompous twat.

Ha hahaa. Thank you for emphasising my point.

I tend to talk to my friends if I have a burning issue, not a load of strangers on-line.

You're right, I know nothing.

Take a lead from the eloquent Arundel Seagull and emigrate if you don't like it.

This is a tremendous country and is still a long way from being the pits of civilisation that you have made it out to be.

You flouncing fool.

Well said couldnt agree more, and the worst part about it is the people who dont have a big lump sum to get their first step on the ladder are normally paying more in rent than they would be on a mortgage.

I actually agree with a lot of what you say, especially about the police unfortunately, what ever happened to police walking the streets keeping a general eye on things and trying to stop trouble before it goes too far, where are they when someone is being beaten to a pulp - usually six cars full of them waiting to catch the dreaded 32mph drivers, dont care what anybody says driving at 32mph is nowhere near as dangerous as some hooded chav scum beating people up because they are wearing the wrong clothes or something equally stupid.

Congrats on the baby by the way

This was quite an interesting read about how the police have changed, mostly in the 80's and 90's, when both Tory and Labour were in charge!

Read point 3 :shrug::thud:

My point as well . You can make an even better long term investment if you wait a year or two for this to bottom out.

I wouldn't make this argument if you intend to live in it, but buying to rent at present is a dead loss.

In addition the buyer needs to be aware that many landlords are unloading the dross from their portfolios, so there is an even greater chance of buying a turkey, either that has structural problems or has been found to be in a poor letting area.

Exactly the whole police force has been ruined. Now the police force concentrate mainly on an easy target to avoid the paperwork I.E. speeders or drunks issue the fines then head off for more doughnuts and tea

Also if you look at the dates, in the 80's and 90's the Tories were in power for about sixteen and a half years and Labour for about there and a half years. Yet some people blame Labour for a lot of the problems with the police, when most of the changes to the police that happened in the 80's and 90's the Tories were in charge!

I won't blame a single party as all politicians are just as bad as the rest. All parties have their good and bad points.

What we need to happen is for the paperwork to be streamlined again and the police to concentrate on the human impact crimes first, NOT the cash cows of speeding and drinking

Bars is Susan, 43 from Lewes. She is unemployed and has a grudge against me because I met her on a corporate film set once and supposedly ignored her. She was a trainee make up artist but word of her stalking tendancies got round the film community and she cannot get any work. She also turned up at the Directors office several times when she became besotted with him. She is a nutjob and that is why she is obsessed and also why she no longer works but spends all day on here pestering me.

Thats bollocks nibble...........Bars (Susan) is my babysitter. She is very good and will come round and sit with my kids at very short notice. She does not seem to have any real friends but seems pleasant enough though the first time I met her she was wearing crimpolene in the middle of summer.

How can you 'invest in renting'? That makes NO SENSE whatsoever. In no way at all can the rent you pay be seen as an 'investment' of any kind. It is dead money. Lost. Gone forever, with no possible form of return.

I'm confused.

But you bought your council house after so many years didn`t you ?

So it wasn`t dead money.

What a load of utter, utter Daily Mail-driven, reactionary, totally unrealistic, self-centred guff.

It was so much better under the Tories wasn't it?

As Wozza says, have wank, and make it as frantic and sweaty as possible.

More to the point, what connection do the current Government have with left-wing politics anyway? They have swung further to the right than the Tories. We have a bunch of Thatcherites running - and f***ing up - this country. Its the most right wing Government we've had in decades. Clearly though, the irony of that is lost on some people...
