Ben, I do agree with you.

There is no reason why a home game cannot be worth 1 point (so season ticket holders start on 23) and you get 2 points per away ticket you buy.

However we have been here before and the club do very little to rectify it, so it becomes a case of being organised and making sure you apply early, not ideal and does not reward loyalty, but sadly that is how the club chose to run it.

I like your face Mr Benjamin. You hold London Irish down while I poke him in the eye with boiling cocktail sticks.

The flaw with what you said there is giving STH's a 23-point lead. There will always be the problem of extremely loyal supporters who are not in a geographical or financial position to afford a season ticket. Just split priority 50-50 between STH's and those with the most points from away games and there's no problem.

Saying "sadly that is how the club chose to run it" is not right. One look at the amount of shite Camillin and the ticket office have to deal with over this ridiculous system every time there is a big game shows it would be in everyone's interest to sort it.

For better or for worse I am of the persuasion that the club can be persuaded to act in a more organised and sensible way sometimes.

Coach, Beach Hut -

Have you confirmed with the ticket office that you don't have tickets and did you both apply at the Swansea game?

They have confirmed to me I did not get one nor my mate (both had JPT stubs but not handed in as an STH application) nor my two kids (STH) nor my wife (soon to be 10-match STH).

I handed mine in at the Swansea game

But you have to give STH some incentive and if you are buying home tickets but not a STH you would still get a point. Also by offering more for away games, it should mean by the time of the third round your loyal away traveller should be just in front of a season ticket holder who does not go away.

Just seen an Albion debit from my account :clap2:

12 quid, though, so must be one of the last. I put my application in the collection bins at the Swansea game, so presume I'm one of the last. I dunno. Are the 12 quid tickets obscured views or summat?

My only reservation about it would be whether the increased admin costs would be worth it for, what, 100-200 people? How many serious away travellers do we have? As has been said, there's no record of the fact that I went to Doncaster and paid on the day, for example.

Like His Right Honourable Piers, I don't see these admin costs.

You send them the stub from the Donny game with your details, they find you on the database and give you a point for the game. The only cost I can see is if they had to get their consultant in to change the database to accommodate this facility, and I can't imagine that taking rocket science to do.

Every minute the ticket office spent processing stubs (of which, as you say, there would hardly be loads) would be offset by the time they'd save not having to deal with aggrieved superfans wailing down the phone/pounding the keyboard the next time we get a big game.

What makes me the most depressed though is not the lack of tickets. We'll go and sit with the Hammers, although I dont think we should have to.

It's the so called fellow Brighton fans posting on here, gloating over other Brighton fans that they've got tickets, especially the ones who know they would be lower down on the loyalty scale some people are suggesting.

Grow up. Be a bit sympathetic - these are genuine fans upset, you know!

But how do you know some of them are not going to games. I would be pissed off if I did not get tickets and I do not think the current system is ideal. However I accept at present this is the system the club use and just make sure I am organised enough to get that application in early.

Maybe they are just pleased to get tickets.

To be honest, now you know you do not have tickets, as annoyed as you are and I can understand that, would it not be better to either get in touch with a friend with a London address so you can get home end tickets? Or start asking around Albion fans you know to see if they have any spares and if any spares do become available you get first dibs on them?

It doesn't sound very easy to me, it'd be a big job processing them, answering queries on them etc.

We should also get away from the idea that we can have a system that is totally FAIR. It never will be, people, deserving people though they may be, will always miss out. Change the rules and it will be a fresh set of whinging from a fresh set of people.

The sounds coming from disgruntled and ticketless season ticket holders is a 'I'm a better fan' than you people with tickets because I buy a season ticket. If only that was a watertight argument, a fair ticketing policy for big games would be a real possibility.

Thanks, we're already on the case. But it's hassle I dont need, and shouldn't have.

Can't see how - most away tickets are bought in advance from the ticket office, so a record that these people have gone to the game is already kept. Where's the difficulty in giving them a point and processing a few stubs from people who paid on the day?

At the severe risk of sounding like the hippy wanker I am, I think all the people who feel so annoyed about this should channel their energy into discussing a better system and encouraging the club to adopt it. It's hard to believe how easy it would be for the club to improve the current one.

I'm only openly gloating because you are being so unbelievably precious about the whole situation.

My opinion - as clearly stated else where:

Why should I, who has to work every Saturday, not get an equal opportunity to see the game as someone who gets to see the team every week?

Having to work Saturdays doesn't make me any less of a fan than you.

Not at any of the 4 away games I've been to this year they weren't.

If you were a real fan, you'd get a different job.
Now I see it's the large mccain's oven chip on your shoulder about your job that's making you so obnoxious.

The only gloating I can see is coming from people who are being told to f*** off because they dont deserve a ticket as they dont have/cant afford a season ticket.
