She is by no means the only one who has left this place, and I don't blame any of them. Tedebear, you are right: it is largely because too many on here don't know how to combine freedom of speech with respect for others. Too often people come out with one-liners in the name of humour without thinking of how it will be received by others (I expect I'm guilty of that, too). For example, zeferelly's throw away line yesterday when he suggested castration for all Roman Catholic priests. Yeah, very funny, and many of us would take it that way. But how would you take it if you were a Catholic priest, already fed up with all the cliched comments about 'little boys' you read and the ignorance towards all the good work you do for little or no pay? I remember we used to have a Catholic priest on here but I haven't seen him post in quite a while. Shame, because he was a fellow Albion fan. How many others have we lost from here?

Freedom of speech is a freedom that needs to be used wisely. It is not an excuse to think you can say whatever you like without consequences.

Some people need to think what they write before pressing the submit button. There is far to much offensive stuff on here for what's supposed to be a football message board. If everyone kept there comments to what they would say if face to face then this place would be a far better place. It's sad that some people on here hiding behind a computer have to be so offensive just to get noticed.

I hope Yorkie finds her way back here soon and that some people learn to be a bit more civil and polite.

It's a shame anyone feels they have to leave this board but some people do take themselves and their opinions so seriously that they invite the flak people inflict upon them. Plus I hardly think Bozza saying that he blamed god was mocking Yorkie's beliefs.

Re catholic priests, after a week when yet another victim of abuse commited suicide here in Limerick after the diocese had threatened him with legal action if he said anything, I have full sympathy with Zeferelly's views. When the Catholic church stop squirming out of their responsibilities and covering up the misdemeanours of their priests and bishops then maybe they might command a bit more respect.

Perhaps it's just the older ones on here that understand that people expect to be treated with respect. There's no excuse to be rude and offensive to other people just because you've got a computer to hide behind, yet there's a few on here don't think before they type. Like I said earlier, if you wouldn't say it to someones face, you shouldn't say it on a message board. Most people on here expect a certain amount of bad language and sexual references etc and I don't personally get upset by that sort of thing, however I just can't see any need for some of the personal stuff that gets posted by a small minority. Everyone has a right to their own opinion and the nature of a board like this means there will be disagreements, just show a bit of respect for others and you might even earn some back.

You may have missed it but I have seen it. Having said that religion shouldn't really come into it but there again, given some of the ranting on political issues anything and everyone is fair game.

Mind you there are people who like to antagonise, petty little wankers all.
