Had absolutely nothing to do with earning the Penalty and happened to be in the right place to finish after an excellent effort on goal for his second.

Who told you this?

50 goals up with 2 today and loses the Ashley Barnes-Door tag for this season.

If I was him I'd leave in the summer and go somewhere where he is appreciated.

Valid opinion, let's hope he does.

Big balls to take the penalty having just missed a sitter, and a tap in.

2 league goals this season?

Barnes was outstanding today. He was the best outfield player by far, he was holding up the ball well when he had hardly any support for most of the first half. Scored 2 and was on his toes to nick the ball which lead to JFC's goal. His off the ball play and defending goes unnoticed by the majority of "Fans", who sang Leroy Lita's name after Barnes hit one shot over the bar!

Good to see Barnes back on the goal trail again today, You could see his confidence coming back after the penalty and it showed the way he pounced for his 2nd.

Scores a pen and a lucky goal and he becomes one of our better players???

I hope we cash in on him.

He's been one of our better players for quite sometime but too many supporters are blinded by their hatred.

Can't for the life of me see how someone can say he was the best outfielder although I agree with the sentiments that in fact Kusczcak was man of the match. JFC and Ince were, in my opinion, were better outfield players.

Been out of form and had an injury. That's okay for Buckley, Lopez et al but Barnes gets castigated despite doing a bloody brilliant job on his own up front week in week out. I'm sure he'd be the first to admit that he would have liked to have contributed more goals but has the supply been there without Orlandi, Lua Lua, Buckley today etc? He could have hidden, he didn't.

If he goes, who will replace him. There was a £7million pound striker on the pitch today and one signed for £100k. Which one had
the better game?

Agree, Ince was the best outfield player IMO, hopefully he starts more games, as for JFC he had a good gae to 1 or 2 mistakes but apart from that spot on.

Barnes was just lucky today doubt we will see a goal from him in the nesxt game.

Funny how when he's not scoring his critics use scoring as a measure of his quality, when he does score it means nothing.

This. Just tiresome........ That said, thought he was poor in the first half. The goal changed everything.

Ince was one of the weaker players today. Yes he had two runs but he was out of position most of the time when they were on the offensive, hence Bridcutt was ready to come on even before we scored the second.
Barnes was good today, very brave of him to take the penalty when we had David on the pitch. Garcia and Jones seemed fine about it too.

Ashley Barnes always puts in the effort, never hides, even when things are going badly for him or the team, and does this whatever role he is asked to play, and manages 50 goals in 150 games, yeah let's sell him
