Yeovil have signed young Chelsea striker Adam Phillips on loan. Wasnt it suggested on here that we were interested in him if so why has he signed for Yeovil. Are we not a better proposition.

If he is young I think Gus would see it as pointless given we have Torbjorn and Ash Barnes. If we get another striker I think Gus will want to sign them perm and for them to be the proven goal getter we all want.

Is the correct answer...

We have enough young strikers gaining experience at the moment.

A young Premiership striker could be a better bet than an experienced Div 1 as Bournemouth found out with Jermain Defoe

But there are countless others that aren't. I'd prefer knowing that a player could do a job to taking a complete gamble.

It is all down to the managers perception as we found when Bristol Rovers had a young striker they sent to Bath on loan as they didnt rate him. Going back Ipswich a top club sold a young Gary Stevens because they said he wouldnt make it. So trust in Gus he will do what he thinks is right and if it happens to be young striker from a premiership club I would be happy. Perhaps another Lua Lua!

When Premier League managers send young players out on loan like that, the only point is to get game-time, and they want reassurances the player will always (or usually) start. For that player, Gus couldn't have done that, so even if he was interested that is probably why the bloke is at Yeovil.
