All yellow cards are wiped off the record on Friday so Dicker and Barnes who are both on four as is Craig Noone if he signs for us. I am sure I heard on the radio that if a player reaches 10 yellow cards they are still banned for 2 games so it is only the 1 game suspension after the 5th yellow that is scrapped.

Why have they decided to do this? seems ridiculous. The whole point of the 5 yellows being a one game ban is to stop people picking up cards and to punish them if they don't.

Where did you read that? I thought the yellow card amnesty was in February or March.

Fair enough, I hope it is true, I just don't recall ever hearing it previously that's all.

The rules are:

5 yellows before 31st dec = 1 match ban
5 yellows after 31st dec = warning to future conduct
10 yellows before 2nd Sunday of April = 2 match ban
10 yellows after 2nd Sunday of April = severe warning

Any idea what a "severe warning" is?

In my imagination it would go a little like the exchange between Hans Blix and Kim Jong Il in Team America: World Police.

Get too many yellows, and the FA will be very angry with you. And they will write you a LETTER telling you how angry they are.

It's all a little crazy. more sense would be to count bookings over a rolling 12 month period.
