I thought he looked good in his mini cameos last season. Reckon he'll be good to go after a pre season. Interesting that big Dave Weir reckons Alzate and Adingra will also both 'play a part'
Our squad is getting very swollen, especially in midfield and attacking midfield. Very swollen.

I believe this boy (and maybe another one or two) will be loaned out. I genuinely believe that we’ll be replacing Caicedo with a specialist DM and potentially landing Kudus who can play AM.

So, with Alzate, Gilmour, Groß, Lallana, Moder, Dahoud plus a couple more; the likes of Kozlowski, Ayari, Moran, Leonard and maybe Buonanotte might find better opportunities on loan.

I agree with all of that, except that I find it hard to see Facu going on loan after he featured so heavily at the end of last season.

Possibly it just depends whether we get others in or rely on those already here

Yup. Milner too. And that's without any signings. Kudus will play CM for instance.
It's not a criticism of the younger players but some who featured last year will have to go on loan unless we think a few hundred minutes of football is good enough for their development next term

I tend to agree with this, even with Europe there won’t be enough games to keep all of these midfielders happy and playing enough to develop properly. I can only see some of them going on loan to get game time.

Disagree. We need two quality players for every position next season. Have too small a squad in you’re out of Europe and struggling in the league. Ayari and Bounanotte will stay here.

Enciso played a couple of U21 games at the start of last season. By the end he had the national Goal of the Season and would probably fetch circa £30 mill

I read an interview where Julio asked to play for the U21s as 1) he just wanted to play some football and 2) he wanted to show to RdZ what he could do. I remember him playing one game and bossing it and then I guess he got his chance for the first team. I am surprised Atari and Bounanotte weren't given a few more games for the reserves last season.

Messi’s probable replacement at no 10 in the Argie team is unlikely to be going out on loan IMO.

You can Look at the squad over here.

Here are our central midfielders with perhaps Kudus or A.nother to replace Caicedo to come.
I'm expecting Alzate to possibly stay. Moder less likely. Hinshelwood and Moran perhaps to be loaned as part of their development?
Leaving Gilmour, Ayari, Dahoud, New Number 8, Gross, Milner, Lallana and possibly Alzate to fight it out.
Several of those can play no.10 (Lallana, Alzate) too and Gross/Milner are versatile and might play the odd game as full backs etc. And obviously a couple of those will get injuries and so on
Doesn't seem *that* bloated to me. Plenty of options given the three cups, PL season, internationals and options for u21 football for some of them.
Might even keep one of Moran/Hinshelwood as options given RDZ penchant for blooding youth.

13.. Caicedo ( 2027 + 1 year option) - 21
14. Moder (2025) - 24
15..Gilmour (2026) - 22
u21 Moran (2027) - 19
16. Alzate (2024) - 24
u21 Ayari (2027) - 19
17. Lallana ( HGP ) (2024) - 35
18.Milner (HGP) (2024 + 1 year option) - 37

19. Groß (2025) - 31
20 Dahoud (2027) - 27
u21. Hinshelwood (HGP) (2026) - 18
...NEW NUMBER 8/10...

Moder would have to be a named player in the squads so it will be a big month or two for him to be afforded that given the number of over 21s we have and that our targets seems slightly older this summer.

Ayari and Buonanotte only joined in January. Buonanotte pretty much featured in most match day squads from Jan/Feb onwards and he played a fair bit of football (500+ minutes) - little opportunity to squeeze in PL2 football for him.
Ayari joined at back end of January. So maybe for him. He had pretty limited chances in first team - 3 fleeting appearances - although was in most match day squads.

Interested that you think Moder might be off.
I think thats more likely than Ayari or Alzate but nobody really knows a) if RDZ rates him/fits into his style of play/fills the gaps he needs b) if he's recovered from his injury. Anyway - its just speculation on my part. There has been reporting though that Alzate is likely to be part of the group.
