Worthing
is my main issue, was the game i have been looking forward to!

It is very good. Also makes it fun with the Kinect, as you have to push away the zombies and kick them. I could do this with no problems via laying in bed. My first dead rising game I have played and it's very good.

I like watching tele through the XboxOne to as you can just switch to a game or a app very quick.

One of my friends who has just got a ps4 has just had his controller put through the washing machine by his girlfriend and he ain't to happy!!

Just get a US Xbox account (piece of cake), and sign up to a service that hides your IP if necessary. Some people in the UK have got a US Xbox second account, just so they can buy digital games at US prices.

Or just buy a PS4, save the hassle of all this and a bit of money at the same time

And save a lot more money with all the games available at no cost for a £39 annual Playstation Plus subscription.

So far this year I've had games such as Far Cry 3, Battlefield 3, NFS Most Wanted, Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen, Assassin's Creed III as just the tip of the iceberg. New games are added on a monthly rotation, and as a member you can download free games for PS3, PS4 and Vita.

Obviously the available games are limited for the PS4 at the moment as it's early days, but that will soon change.

For £39 per year you get to download free games for PS3, PS4 and Vita. Technically you are renting them for the period of your subscription, but even if you let your subscription end the games are there for you still if you renew. During any period of non-subscription you will however be locked out of your games. There are several games (for all formats) available on a yearly rotation, as well as a separate rotation every month. All you have to do is download them (or add them to your download list) during the period they are available.

As if this weren't enough you get price reductions on most content that you buy on the PS Store (even on sale items), which are yours to keep irrespective of subscription ending. You also get up to 2GB of online storage to back up your game saves, and finally there are full game trials available exclusively to Plus users too.

Browse this page for more info: Playstation Plus

It really is an outstanding deal, and my only regret is not joining sooner myself.

Looking forward to Borderlands 2 becoming available in a few days! :)

I think I said it on a different thread, but if you have PS+ but haven't made the leap to a PS4 yet, log in to the Sony Entertainment Network on your PC and put the free PS4 games each month through the checkout. That way all of them will be in your download history and you'll have a decent game catalogue available for you to DL and play the moment you get the console

Means you don't miss out on the highly-rated Resogun and interesting indie plaformer for starters

Yup. Am doing likewise. ;)

Given I only got my first PS3 18 months ago I'm not going to be moving to the next gen for a good few years yet, so should have quite a library ready for me when I do.

That's a great idea. KVLT (in the post above) seems to say the games expire after a year. Is this the case, or are they there forever once you put them through the checkout?

Also, is PS+ required to play online on PS4, or is it something extra on top of the £££ to play online?

To play online you just need PS+, but as part of that you get free games each month.

In rehab
I will wait at least a year before deciding which console to buy.

By then both machine flaws should be identified and hopefully ironed out. Prices should drop. I will see which game titles interest me. I currently have a 360 but had a Playstation before. I'm not one of these sad fookers who say "i've always been an XBox/Playstation person and won't stop now"

No, the games don't expire after a year. It's just that there are some games that are on a yearly rotation (ie they are swapped for new titles annualy), and some are on a monthly one. Any game you put through the checkout is yours to use for as long as you are subscribed.

PS+ is now a requirement to play PS4 online, but isn't required for PS3 online play - which is free.

If you are a PS4 owner you can consider it a charge for online play, but with all the benefits I've mentioned above as free extras.

Bargain!
