my sons had the same,emailed microsoft,within 10 days,the item was sent to germany and a brand new one sent, with 1month live free,excellent service

You first phone up Microsoft/box and then you send the Xbox to Frankfurt where they tamper with it for 3 weeks at a cost of around £50. After 3 weeks it will be as good as Knew.

same happened to my mates at uni, he had to get something printed off the internet, then it got sent and repaired in Germany. came back really quickly though (thank god), so Fifa is well and truely back on the go!

Take it back to the shop, I did they gave me a new one and they sent it back. Ring the shop up and ask, I'm pretty sure there is some law or another that the shop has to take it back.

As long as you bought it within the last 3 years, ring up Microsoft, get UPS to pick it up (free of charge) and in about 2 weeks you'll receive either your one fixed OR a BRAND NEW console with 1 month Xbox Live subscription.
As much as people like to slag off Microsoft for the red ring of death, you really can't beat their customer service and to offer the service for free is pretty darned good.

1 Red light - General Hardware faliure = Will have to be repaired, unless you want to open it up which isnt a good idea because it will Void the warranty

2 Red lights - Overheat/Fan Problem = Try a can of compressed air to get rid of the dust that makes it overheat/ if its a fan problem you will most likely have to send it off

3 Red Lights - Power Supply problem/ Anything else = Is the power light orange/green or red?

Try Unplugging everything, make sure you test everything like try turning it on without the AV cable in to see if is a problem with that, try and turn it on with the hard-drive out and if it works when thats out, reset it and put it back in and it should work failing all this you will have to send it off im afraid

Red lights can also indicate that you haven't plugged the output (TV) cable in properly. These lights then clearly indicate to the user that is the problem (as obviously there is no picture to tell them that!).
