My boys 360 was modded and they still repaired it, absolutely top class service.

all i did was turn it off and leave it for a day or two

and it was fine

but i dont know if it will work again

Sounds like it, Make sure you hoover the dust out of the xbox, sounds incredibly stupid but it stops the dust from clogging the fan bays up

all 360's have a 3 year warranty now. Mine had the red rings back in 2007. Phoned Microsoft who then ask for serial no.s ect. Then they send UPS round with a cardboard box to collect it. (make sure you take everything off. I left the wireless adaptor on it, and had to phone UPS an hour after they picked it up, to bring it back!!!)

returned within 2 weeks I believe. DOnt expect a "brand new" one mind, they are refurbished duds that others returned with similar faults.

No matter how many times this query comes up the answer never changes. The Xbox 360 IS NOT AS GOOD as the PS3, in fact it is a very poor alternative.

You pay a little more for the standard machine with Playstation BUT you are getting a far superior piece of kit WITH online gaming and wireless modem included FREE unlike the shitty, noisy, always failing 360.

It's an absolute NO-BRAINER.

The PS3 could well be the greatest single purchase of my ENTIRE LIFE

People have different opinions, I Myself have always prefered the xbox360 and the online play is much better than the PS3, But I agree the PS3 is far, far more reliable if you want a console thats not going to break.

The towel trick is pointless, it works for around a week then wrecks the internal system and burns the graphic card out..

Just sent mine off yesterday, 3 red rings after nearly 2 years use, but you have 3 years for a free repair, call number in back of instruction manual and arranged free UPS pick up, they said 2/3 weeks to get it back, bloody thing went just when I was building my Real Zaragoza (great stadium) side up after quitting Barca (so boring managing a big side)

Has it got 3 Lights? If it has you get 4 year warranty for 3 red lights so you'll be fine.

If you have a hotmail/windows live email account you register your console via the serial number to you.
Then you get the option of requesting a repair- completely free and you book a time for UPS to come and pick your machine up (you need to find a suitable box for it)..Microsoft are happy to pick the box up from anywhere but will only return to your home address.
Takes between 1-2 weeks.

Then you can enjoy the best games out on the perfect GAMES machine again.
Or you could go and buy a PS3 and sit there LOOKING at it (wow it's so beautiful and like...black and shiny), listening to it (Wow it's so quiet, it would be a shame to actually turn my TV up because that would spoil the silence), knocking one out over the size of your hard drive (WOW YOU CAN ADD YOUR OWN OMG!!) or running down HMV shelling out uneccesary amounts of money to restock you VIDEO collection (WOW IT'S GOT A ******* BLU RAY MAN).
