Had several come over the University of Sussex and we guessed on there way to Shoreham. Either that or our Air Force really is skint and we are using some old stock to send to Syria!

The ME109 that usually does these shows has an intersting history. After WWII there were some 109s left and they were sold to the Spanish Airforce. They didn't have any engines, so the Spitfire Merlin engine was fitted to them, hence the fact it sounds just like a Spitfire.

oooh..a german bomber has just gone over...not sure what it is, it actually looked like a wellington with german markings

We can all sing......there were 10 german Bombers, flying in the air....and the RAF from england shot them down...LOL

For a SPLIT second I thought you meant "...in readiness for Syria."

I'm tired. It's Friday. Sorry.

Brighton factually.....
Not as scary seeing the yank planes jet fighters escorting the US president we saw once over London, we heard a terrible roar and looked up between the buildings in a built up west end area and saw the jets flying over and low...... I thought that was it bombs next... I even hugged the wife thinking my time was up, until some old dear said something about the president coming.

Has Barak been here in the last 24hrs then? The nurse on our ward said something about being woken early this morning near city airport by several aircraft and thinking it was strange as there's nothing flying at that time usually.

Were any of these pilots wearing blue and white shirts did anyone notice. If so it was Millwall fans trying to avoid Brighton Station.

Sorry to be an anorak, but they were fitted with local engines made by Hispano Suiza.
They were used in the film 'The battle of Britain'

Anoraknophobia time.

There are a few genuine 109's still in existence and flying, amazing how few as I believe they were the most produced Fighter Plane in history 30,000 plus!
