This is bollocks spread by Hamilton - manager Dennis Smith has publicly distanced himself from this and laid the blame very squarely on one person's shoulders.

Darren Ferguson is our highest paid player but our entire wage bill meets the league's "no more than 60% of turnover" criteria which will become compulsory in the future.

Our problems are down Alex Hamilton, our chairman that wants Wrexham AFC dead so he can develop the land on which the Racecourse stands.

No problem mate, just wanted to correct HIS inaccuracies - some journos have been far too easy on him, printing his lies and not asking him the pertinent questions.

It's plain and simple. Wrexham are in debt because Alex Hamilton, the major shareholder (who got involved ONLY because he wanted to asset strip the club), has refused to pay a bill owing to the Inland Revenue and has created new debts to companies owned by himself. He wants the Club to go out of business to enable the ultimate asset strip - building on a vacated ground - to be easier. From Hamilton's point of view, he would have preferred compulsory liquidation by the Courts. But his plan was successfully thwarted by a combination of his own stupidity and the quick action of two other directors (who have now achieved the administration that will at least allow the Club to keep playing).

My question to Wrexham fans is this. Now the Club is in administration, will this prevent Hamilton ever regaining control of the Club?

Good luck to Wrexham in their appeal. Presumably this will force the Football League to listen to the story of how this situation has come about. Up to now, they have simply taken the view that it is a "business matter" that is nothing to do with them.

I have just spoken to a member of the supporters trust.

The club definately went into admin at 11.56

The club has since been sold, the club, the land and everything.

how this affect us and admin noone knows yet but the club entered admin at a time stated by the judge.

Hamilton is expected to make an announcement this afternoon.

Noone knows yet if this is a good or bad move for wrexham fc and how it will affect us.

It is nothing to do with harris as far as i can understand.

There was discussion on Radio 5.

£800K (or (900K) was said to be the amount owed to the Inland Revenue.

The rest of debts were long term debts for ground improvements as well as public money from the lottery fund.

It failed to come across that it was a conspiracy (allegedly) but it was equally likely to be put down to mismanagement. This is how it would have appeared to the casual listener.

This was because it was not unusual for the ground to be put into the hands of a holding company.

Administration was obligatory. I wonder how the administratrators look into the past events that result in debts incurred for ground improvements end up as debts for a company (Wrexham FC) thaty does not own the ground any more?

Wrexham are still in really dire straits. Clydebank and Airdrie cease to exist after going through the same process.

Wrexham sold?

According to Mr Berg, Hamiltons solicitors the club has been sold. Recent reports come through says its been sold to UPA in Surrey who are land resellers.

They are making a joint announcement with the trust on Monday. As they are making a joint announcement this could be good news for us.

If they are looking at re-developing our Kop with the trust this can only be good news.

Does anything know anyone about them? www.unitedplotowners.net

May 2004, when Mark Gutterman left and Alex Hamilton took over and admitted for the first time he owned the club.

Latest news from red-passion.com is that the Club and Ground have been sold to a Surrey-based company called UPA Ltd.

UPA and the Supporters' Trust are apparently issuing a joint statement on Monday.

From the UPA website:-

The U.P.A. Limited was formed in February 2003 to assist Plotowners across the UK in progressing planning applications for their sites.

For a joining fee of £23.50 (inc. VAT) and a plot registration of £41.13 (inc. VAT) per plot, you can be part of this. The formation of the organisation is bringing new impetus to self-build and key worker housing across the UK.Since its launch in February 2003, the UPA has inspected a number of sites throughout the country and is currently working through a number of sites that may be progressed for joint planning applications.

The UPA provide a unique service and adopt a most innovative approach to progressing planning applications. The UPA have invested the professional expertise and a great deal of research to formulate a template to provide affordable key worker housing at these sites. This provides an exceptional incentive and a great deal of benefit to the local community. By providing self-build potential the opportunity for affordable housing becomes available to the plot owners. All sites are fully inspected for suitability and the top consultants engaged to provide all the necessary reports such as traffic impact studies and environmental studies to present the highest quality planning application for presentation. The UPA have been in consultation with the Deputy Prime Minister’s office and are presenting documents to this office and his policy unit. We believe there will be major changes in land sales and planning laws there has been much news coverage about the problems with the current procedures. The recent reports by Kate Barker and David Miles presented to the government highlight the issues facing the government with the current housing crisis where house prices are spiralling and there is a shortfall in building. The UPA are positioned in a unique situation by presenting the opportunity to provide key worker housing at no cost to the local community and affordable housing for the self builder, this has to represent a very attractive opportunity to both the government and local authorities.

No-one can guarantee planning permission being granted. This is a decision of either local, county or regional inspectors of public inquiries. However the UPA intend to pursue planning permission in a way that will assist members and the local communities to grow in a manner consistent with today’s modern world.

At first sight, this doesn't look at all good. But the fact that UPA are apparently working with the Wrexham Supporters' Trust might give some cause for hope.

Fingers crossed.

Sorry about starting a new thread on the apprent sale LB, didn't see this.
I think it is good news. I'm trying to stay positive but why would UPA want to work with the trust if they wanted to take over where Hamilton left off.
Everyone assumes that when they see the word development it is bad.
The trust made plans a few months back to show Hamilton how the kop could be redeveloped. UPA may well have cottened onto this and are looking at re-developing the ground with the trusts help.
They can't do anything without the councils permission and the council have said they would go along with the trusts plans.
fingers crossed indeed!

One of the Daves (Wrexham Director) said on Sky, just before tonight's match, that he thought the Club hadn't yet been sold.

But did he just mean that nothing had been finalised?

I think he meant nothing has been finalised as yet.

And it doesn't sound as yet as if they are working with WST, it's all speculation at the moment.

Suppose all will be revealed on Monday.

I think a few of us are jumping the gun on it!

It could be good news it could be bad but whatever I am sure we are prepared for it.

We are so used to bad news that it seems hard to believe any "good news" at the moment but we are battle hardened and ready for it all.
