more worried about forest to be honest.......we have to go there and bolton..........if we strip palace at home i will be happy , it will go a little way to atoning for last seasons clusterfuck......play off qualification would be an over-achievement in my mind .......but if we get there we can beat anyone on our day..........

We would be wrong to write off Palace. Let them continue to write us off.

What's this obsession with Bolton? Even if they win EVERY game from now until the end of the season they'll only be on 78 points, - 3 points over the threshold I think we can expect this year. Surely Middlesbrough are more viable than Bolton are!

Can't see Palace dropping out of the play offs; their home form will easily see them get 75+.

I'm pretty sure it won't be enough for a top 6 finish, but Bolton do seem to be on a run of form and I'll be backing them to beat Barnsley this weekend (despite Barnsley being on a run of form themselves).

With regards to the OP, yes it would be hilarious but it's very unlikely. Given the current table, it's more likely that they would pip us, which would not be funny at all. Quite the opposite in fact - can you imagine the noise from up the road? Only Bolton knocking them out would even begin to shut them up. It won't happen anyway as too many sides would have to drop points for them to make the top 6.

81 ... they are on much better form than Boro, have a Prem level squad that just haven't got going until recently and have a run of games coming up (next 8) that they can (arguably) win all of.

I doubt they'll do it but if you look for challengers to our 6th spot I'd put them and Forest as the most likely to give us a problem ... apart from ourselves that is :glare:

True - but I was more focussing on DF doing the business etc...

I think the main threats for that 6th spot apart from Boro are Forest, Leeds, Bolton and Blackburn but those last two have a lot of catching up to do (in fact, Millwall are better placed than them at the moment). Would be great if we won on Sat and all five dropped points.

You could be right. I can see us sneaking 6th from Mboro on the last day and winning the play offs!

I can genuinely see Palace dropping out of it, let's be honest on paper (and on the pitch recently) they're really not good enough to be there.

Gonna be amusing watching them drop, that's for sure.

Really? I don't like them, but I've got a quiet respect for the team they have assembled. Jonathon Williams was the best player on the pitch when we played them at the Amex last season, and he was only about 11. I know we don't like them, but we don't have to pretend they're shit.

why another palace thread, we are obsessed.

Ultimately, this. And we wonder why there are so many populating the forum?!

They still have to play Hull , Leeds and Leicester at home and are to sure to drop points in their remaining away games too.
