We've been out for three years so far - not long enough to judge Brexit a success or failure. It's a long term project so stick it out and your children / grand children will thank you for it later.
The 'Leave' campaign littered with quotes and slogans indicating a "Deal" would be quick and easy, nothing about a minimum of 10 years, possibly 20. But that's the reality if - indeed - we ever get back to where we were before we left, which is doubtful.

If Starmer gives the vote to Euros and under 18s and the vote goes re-enter.
Giving a vote 7 years later doesn’t disenfranchise anyone. It’s quite the opposite, especially for the 5m+ people that have turned 18 in that time.

44% of the electorate voted for a conservative government only 4 years ago. By your reasoning, the fact that we’re going to have a GE sometime next year disenfranchises them.

There's yer problem in a nutshell.

Patronising and condescending jibes at Leavers questioning their ability to comprehend such matters makes things worse.

Comes down to a previous comment about folk not even trying to make this transition work, simply hoping for bumps in the road to allow for hand-wringing and 'I told you so'.

Pretty churlish.
how could that possibly ,"make things worse"?

A good friend of mine who voted Brexit admitted that a big reason for his vote was immigration, especially Polish people.

Well, although net migration is almost double the figure it was when he voted Brexit, by the time his kids are old enough to get full time employment, Poland’s economic outlook will be superior to ours giving the would-be Polish economic migrants he was so slighted by, no reason to come here at all.

He’s won.

Mental gymnastics may provide you with some comfort, those shooting at you may not see it that way.

If it wont make any difference then why do it? Why now? Why not weight a generation? How many would that add to the electoral register? 6 million? extra 20%?

I’m not quite sure what you’re getting at, but you do realise that if the vote was tomorrow remain/rejoin would win regardless of whether or not it was opened to 16-17 year olds as well.

There is a big world out there!! Posted on CU thread. We are now on control of our own destiny.
We still have a EU free trade deal and will continue to trade with our closest geographical neighbours. Our accession to the CTPTT. This a free trade deal which covers 11 countries across the Pacific, https://www.fdf.org.uk/fdf/news-med...ludes a single set, from across the trade bloc.
GDP of these countries is projected to be more than GDP of EU in next 5 years

Aren't EU bureaucrats elected by MEPs who are voted in by the sovereign citizens of the EU member states?
The European Commission is like FIFA. We can’t vote for the President of either organisation. In a democracy the electorate can determine the next leader.
