Would you leave SWANSEA for LEEDS?

Cos that is exactly what Swansea star Andy Robinson has done.

I hope he ends up with EGG on his FACE and playing in League 1. Surely shows Leeds are still not shy when it comes to tempting players by SPLASHING the cash...

I had heard that his departure to Leeds was dependent on them winning the play-off. He's been offered £12k per week, which is a fair crack for the Championship, but illustrates precisely the point Leeds fans still don't understand, which is how can they afford to pay players this amount, but not afford to pay off their debts to the St John's Ambulance.

Which, if the reports are correct would substantiate the £7k per week that Westlake was getting and is good enough reason for most players to join Leeds.

I'm amazed he's gone before knowing what league Leeds will be in. If, and it's still an if, Leeds were in the same division as Swansea then yes, I probably would leave for Elland Road. At this stage it's one hell of a risk though.

shock, horror, Complete Bodger make a sensible comment on a LEEDS thread

westy is not getting £7k a week.

robinson wanted to wait until after this weekend to make a decision but swansea gave him a deadline of yesterday to make his mind up. he came to thorp arch and saw our facilities and that was it no waiting for thursday, pretty much.

Its not dependent on the leeds result !

robinson wanted to wait until after the weekend before making his decisionn but swansea forced the issue of giving him until tuesday to make his mind up on there contract offer and he has chosen elland road

this is the reason i want rid of leeds you only have to look at the players they attracted last summer when they had an embargo for most of the summer now they are a club looking on the up they will attract some quality players and surely run away with the league if they stay down

I think its a strange decision, he seems to have had quite an uncertain future at Swansea for a while, never really committed to the club. With Martinez at the helm, Swansea will only get better, and I can't see why Robinson wouldn't want to be part of that.

Perhaps he's been told he has no future at Swansea.

Without all the facts, how can we really comment on whether this is a good move or not?

I reckon there'll be several players on winning sides over the weekend who know it'll be their last game for their respective clubs. Promotion can be a bad thing for some players.

I'd suggest that any of the current Brighton squad would LEAP at the chance to go to Leeds and we know that we are a much bigger club than Swansea, so no it's not even a little bit suprising imo :p

Depends on the wages. If Accrington Stanley offered Ronaldo £10M a year to play for them he'd be there quicker than a milk advert.

I still want Leeds to stay down, regardless of how much they strengthen their squad. After all, they can only occupy one promotion/play-off position at most (although I wouldn't put it past Bates to come up with some way round that, as well).
