Do other clubs fans behave the way we do? Booing Cucurella, Caicedo, Trossard displaying overt hatred to the likes of Potter, Bridcutt, Poyet? We seem to do it a lot to players and managers who merely have the temerity to leave to a bigger club*.

*unless they cry on the pitch after their last game, then they're golden
Yes. It doesn’t happen that often to players coming to our club, as we don’t tend to bid for players in situations where we are forcing them to sell so much. A recent example I can think of is Duffy being booed by Blackburn.

How was RDZ to blame?
No, sorry, of course he wasn't. Sanchez was guilty, simply because the wonderful RDZ could do no wrong!

Actually, he got away with playing Steele (a good solid reliable no.2, but never a PL no.1) for half a season, then because his relationship with Sanchez was completely f***ed we had had to splash out the best part of £20M for another goalkeeper who wasn't quite good enough either, resulting in the rubbish of rotating GKs this season. Which cost us several league places, and ultimately cost (among other things) de Zerbi his job.

Wasn't the rotation of GKs largely an attempt to prevent a repetition of the Sanchez situation ie don't put either keeper's nose out of joint by dropping them to the bench? Instead, keep them both happy through rotation. GK is a key position and unfortunately at the Albion a pattern was developing of players getting their own way through throwing a major strop. Which can be largely mitigated against in most positions, GK being the exception

Very interesting take.

Nothing to do with Sanchez losing confidence after his absolute howler at Palace, and his inability to adapt to a new style then, quickly followed by his tantrum having failed to regain his place following the Everton defeat?

No.

RDZ was an important part of our history. It was good while it lasted up to January 2024.

Same goes for GP. He was an important part of our club's development. Ok, he was offered a once in a lifrtme opportunuity to quadruple his wages and manage a mega rich Champions of Europe team with unlimited resources. Not many people (hand on heart and brain guys!) wouldnt not have taken a chance on a once in a lifetime opportunity. Thats why McKenna is holding out for the Man Utd job!

Have said this on another thread, but IMO GP is currently the best available candidate for a club at our level. He probably has the emotional intelliegence to realise he let his heart rule his head when he moved to Chelsea. Everyone makes mistakes. Someone who accepts their mistakes, learns from the experince and moves on is often a better person.

Is the correct take. Bizarre how he seemed to think the home defeat to Everton was all down to Steele.
