Any of these:
Brighton 0-2 Sheff Wed => relegation
Brighton 1-4 Crewe
Brighton 0-3 Blackpool
Oh and how could I forget more failure from our international footballers. Several shit performances, led rudderlessly by a pitiful and grossly overpaid manager bereft of ideas and inspiration in the World Cup. What an utter disaster in a tournament that we genuinely had the capability to win.
A tradition manfully continued by the ruddy faced tosser, Steve McClaret. And Paul Robinson's wonderful airkick in Croatia.
Yes it's truly been a wankingly POO sporting year. I'd say that I can't think of a worse year in my 35 years. Even team of the year in the BBC Sports Personality went to a team in a sport that only a fraction of the country gives a toss about.
But for me, one terrible moment stands out in an ocean of shitness. Worse than relegation. Worse than England WC failure, and obviously worse than the shitness of 8 rugby defeats...
Waking up, turning on teletext to get the score on day 5 from Adelaide in the second test - and finding that England (68 ahead with 9 wickets standing on the final day of a test match) were within 20 minutes of certain defeat. Utterly gutwrenching. Awful awful awful.
If it wasn't for the fact that we've been soooo shit in every other test match of the series, I'd probably still not believe it actually happened.
