After watching Seagulls Player lowlights of Tuesdays game, and not blaming Smith for any of the goals, has any goalkeeper let in as many goals on their debut.

Kuipers debut for us was less than glorious - subbed at half time.

Hands down it has to be NICKY RUST at Barnet 9-0 against Northampton, i think it was...!

The poor bloke still has nightmares about this game (allegedly) & it it stops him from getting a good kip to this very day. Quite litterally, it's a case of RUST NEVER SLEEPS.

Who'd have thunk it, a Brighton goalie inspiring a Neil Young record :clap2:

I remember a game on Match of the Day from about 1979, when QPR played Burnley, the visitors had a 17 year-old goalkeeper making his debut.

QPR won 7-0. Even though only one of the goals was down to him, he still left the field in tears.

Billy O' Rourke was his name I felt so sorry for him I think I cried though I was 10 at the time

Brighton factually.....
I think they played Peterborough and it was 9-1 but the principle was definitely right. Barnet are my local club so I remember it happening and have a feeling that Barnet's goal may have been an own goal (so Peterborough scored all 10).

your right Mr Finchley it was Peterbrough and it was on tv highlights that night itv.

Who was our young keeper in the Grimsby away match on Valentines Day in 2004?
Stuart Jones I think?
Anyway he got bundled into the net for one of their goals and let the ball under his body for the other ... a disaster!
Think it was only his second match for us

Surely Smith's booking was the fastest debut booking ever? It was a flair performance all round, gets booked after 10-20 seconds, lets in a penalty, then saves the next one, goes on to let in a bagful (none his fault)

That's entertainment

I am sure John Sullivan got booked before he made his debut. Was away at some northern town (possibly Oldham) and he was booked as an unused sub
