got there late on the train and as we got in the ground...they put us underneath the shelf and it all kicked off there...

Snap Dave. We were put under the shelf as well.

Some of our fans in the end, to our left, took a hammering at half time. At the end fans had to go on to the pitch for their own safety.

Spurs fans were waiting for us outside after the game.

I think a 0-0 result was probably for the best, all things considered. If we'd scored it would have probably been even worse!

Yeovil this season was pretty shit.

Got stuck in a massive traffic jam on the motorway which meant it took us 2 hours to cover 7 miles.

Hared through the countryside at God knows what speed  , arriving on the outskirts of Yeovil just after kick off time. Got lost trying to find the ground, and didn't make it until about 15 minutes in. We were then told on the gate that we had to go all the way round the other side of the ground to buy a ticket, just so we could bring it back to the turnstile to get in.

The ticket office had no change, so we lost a couple of quid there.

We were already a goal down by this point, as relayed to us by BBC Radio Bristol in gleeful terms. We played shit, never had a sniff, and lost two nil.

Utterly hopeless day out

Bradford away must have been in the late 80's / early 90's
got chased all over Bradford by a bunch of skin heads, finally managed to get back to London only to get on the same tube as Pala*se, to be fair they didn't lay a fist on us, until we got off the tube, which considering there were 3 of us and about 100 them we wouldn't have stood a chance on the tube (a few kicks aimed in our directions but none contacted due to them being donkeys and all that). You would have thought the above was enough, but we then got back to Victoria only for a group of well nasty Chelsea nutters to get on our train back to Croydon (you know the type skin head Chelsea/Rangers tatoos) got spat at and abused. But lived to tell the tale.

Decided never to wear a shirt away again after that.

Still, they were the days!

West ham away 1978/9 ish.

Spend all game fending off homicidal skinhead maniacs who wanted to kill all Brighton fans

It was the game Billy Bonds kicked Peter ward from one end of Upton park to the other so much so he had to be substituted....we drew 0-0 and I bought a west ham hat just to blend in

I was there for that one DTG, agreed, was a heavy heavy day, virtually no segregation, down the steps under the stand there were as you say, many very meaty skinheads looking for an opportunity,.. I was a chirpy 16 year old before that game, I'd aged a bit by the time I got home.

Everton away old First Division, cant' remember which of the 4 seasons it was but....... we were bussed from the Seagull Special(s) to Stanley Park, we had to walk from there, no real probs, think we lost 4-3 or 5-4,...... then walked back to the busses, got on board but it did seem a bit more crowded on the way back??!!??... all of a sudden the bus erupted, scousers everywhere...... one geezer jumped out of the upstairs back window to get away from them......... luckily I seemed to be off their scope in my little bit of the bus...... but the old bill soon sorted it out.

Fulham away in the mid eighties - always played shit there, always lost, got chased across the park to Putney bridge by baseball wielding twats.

Portsmouth away 1984, 1 nil up at half time, pissed down and lost 5-1.

West Brom away,New years day 1990. Lost 3-0. we were really shit. Problem is all my inlaws are baggy fans and I was staying there. Bollocks.

Triple bollocks.

Yep, and we spent most of the game taking the piss out of "FATTY" Mick Channon:lolol: That was the ONLY highlight of the day.
