Probably the weakest team so far
Very similar - although I included Tony Greig and Dizzy Gillespie where you had Grace and Grisham, and had Mike Gatting or Larry Gomes rather than Gayle. I had Johnny Gleeson as the spinner but had forgotten Lance Gibbs

Nice. Shame there's no place for Sussex's Uday Joshi but he doesn't really merit one. Barry Jarman (Aussie keeper) might have pushed Geraint Jones. Presumably Jardine is skipper! Jayasuriya might have sneaked in as a rare Sri Lankan representative.

Langridge John
Lenham Les (gets in on the basis that his brother was my brother's best mate)
Lindsay Dennis (WK)

Lillee Dennis
Larwood Harold
Lawrence David
I wouldn't fancy batting against this pace attack. Needs a spinner.
I did think of Jarman but Jones is a better bat. But Jayasuriya is a good call, he's in
Jim Laker. There are lot of fast bowling Ls You could also have had LeRoux, Loader, Lockwood and Larter,

THAT is a side!
Larwood and Lillee bowling from either end, you just wouldn't fancy it would you, especially knowing Brett Lee was next up!
I think the L side could be the best yet - bit of a long tail though

Moeen (conveniently forgetting he's an Ali. If not him then Greg Matthews)
Marsh Mitchell

Marsh Rod (WK)

Murali
A bit flimsy in the batting department, too many off-spinners but the opening bowlers might make one or two batsman hop around a bit and then just throw the ball to Murali (and yes I know, he'll throw it at the batsman)

A decent team that - bats to number 9 - three quickies, an offie and slow left armer and several players who would their own countries' best of all time list
Now then my cricket-loving NSC friends - it just shows how easy it is to forget - surely Brian Lara has to be in the L team.
On the Ms I’m still unsure of our protocol regarding player names for Pakistan. Are either Javed Miandad or Mushtaq Ahmed up for consideration? I know Murali has to be there but Mushy as second spinner? I always found the Pakistan name thingconfusing from the time I saw Abdul Qadir as Abdul on some scorecards and Qadir on others. I was lucky enough to work in inner-city schools for my last 17 years as a HT and discovered both are acceptable. Therefore looking ahead someone like Waqar Younis could qualify for W and Y - a bit like Eoin Morgan representing Ireland and England maybe?
