BATTLE OF THE I - IANS

INDIAN VS ITALIAN

It's been a classic competition with little or no reports of crowd trouble. We've seen some classic matches (thai vs mexican anyone?) and we're left with two heavyweights of world cooking

After this final you can tell anyone you meet what the British Isles' favourite cuisine is. It'll be an OFFICIAL FACT.

So, what's it to be? Spice or Sauce, Poppadom or Pasta shell, Pint of lager or a drop of red?

You decide.....

Suprised myself, but I'm voting for Italian.
I cook many a pasta dish at home, takeaway pizza is a marvel and a nice Italian meal out is always good.

Italian.

Indian too one-dimension - curry, curry or, er, curry. The Italians do wonderful desserts as well as the pizza and pasta.

India 7-11 Italy

Indian food is more tha just curry. The Thali's are a banquet in themselves.

Every region has its own cooking style and flavours. All round strenght.

Italian food is great, width, a good defence of pasta and pasta and dough.

Good midfield but lacking in finishing power. I love my spicy food and only the Southern part of Italy use chilli's. Its failed to adapt to new formations and usage of new spices.

Its Indian for me. Come on! Hit them pasta boys with yer bhaji's.

This could go either way. The Italians ahead right now, but worse teams than the Indians have come back and won

btw, the final runs for 2 days so plenty of time to go

Has to be Indian, if that includes the whole sub-continent. Where I live in Tooting, one can sample so many different styles of 'Indian' food, it's easy to sample something different every night.

I know that Italian has a lot of variety as well, but everything about south Asian cooking is exciting. Clear winner for me.

Although I always head straight to the local Indian when I'm back in the UK, I've had to be loyal here and vote for Italian.

Had an excellent platter of grilled fish and seafood last night.

The Italians' simple methods of cooking fish are a huge plus mark in their favour.

Will a penalty shoot-out be required?

Think a draw should be settled by a discus style throwing of Naan bread versus pizza bases

Italian btw.
