Lets see what you think of this.

Recently while working at the same call centre that i do now. The nightmare scenario happened for any person working in such a job.

I had a really frustrating call and was becoming worked up by the tone of the customers voice. I put the customer on hold to ask a question to one of my colleagues. At least i thought i put them on hold! There was a problem with the phone and this did not happen.

The next day i was called into a meeting with my boss where he told me he had received an email said customer saying that he had heard me talking to colleagues saying "he needs to get a life" and "im sick of the sound of his voice"

A lesson most definately learnt by me! Luckily im still in the job.

I am paranoid about that. I tend to always check by saying something to test if they can hear once I've put them on hold.

On a similar lines to that, has anyone ever sent an Instant Message to the wrong person! I have, what a disaster that was!

i accidently sent an email to my missus from a generic list email ie- customers@company.com instead of my personal work email, and she replied WITH a whole days worth of chatter that went to about 50 people [customers and fellow employees] which was WELL embarrasing.

yep that was embarassing, sent a pretty dirty message that was meant for my girlfriend to her best mate. That went down pretty well.

Did you get off with her?

When I worked at Amex, I was running a project for a rather saucy looking young lady. She came to see me one morning, and after our meeting as she went out through our office door, I turned to a colleague and said "I love working for her, she must have the best arse in Amex" - Just at the precise moment she turned round and came back in to ask me another question.

Many years ago I worked for Lloyds Bank (before it amalgamated with TSB).

I was dealing with a woman at the counter and I missed one word she was saying. I have highlighted the word in BOLD

Customer: I need to deal with these cheques. they are payable to my LATE brother.
Me: I'm sorry madam but those cheques are crossed. He will need to sign them!
Customer: How can he do that? He's dead!

I just wanted the ground to open up!

we had a guy in the states who sent a letter around the company and to his family on the first anniversary of 9-11 basically saying some smultzy crap about how he appreciates knowing everyone etc. that was a bit bad but it really got bad when his Dad replied to everyone with a message along the lines of 'you know son, the day you were born was the proudest of my life and I shed a tear everyday thinking about how I brought such a wonderful son into the world.' oh dear!

when I was a contractor at BUPA, some chap came to see me in a panic because he sent a pornographic email to the wrong person, he sent it to a senior manager instead of his mate (they were next to eachother in his address book).

I told him I'll see what I could do and I'd get back to him. I went to the Manager's desk (luckily I knew his password because he'd asked it to be reset earlier that day) forwarded the email to me, then deleted all trace before the senior manager had checked his mail.

So I went back to my desk, checked out the email that I sent to myself, then went to see the chap, explaining that the Manager had seen the image (I was able to describe it!) and that he was furious. He was convinced he was gonna be sacked!

I gave in after a few more minutes of winding him up though, serves him right though

I used to work for a big publishing company (about 2000 employees). One day an email appeared in everyone's inbox from an employee who none of us had ever heard of. I started reading it, realised she must have hit the wrong button, and laughed at how embarrassed she must have been at doing so - but at least it was a fairly innocuous email to a friend: 'How are you,' 'Look forward to seeing you at the weekend' - that sort of thing.

Then I got to the last paragraph which, if I recall correctly, went something along the lines of, 'By the way, I went out again with that guy I was telling you about. Had a meal and a few drinks, then went back to his and did the dirty deed. Well, it was the fourth date after all.'

A colleague of mine, who had no idea who this woman was, hit reply, saying, 'Was he any good?' To give the writer of the email her dues, she answered back with, 'That would be telling.'

Was chasing a potential partner for a deal a few years back. They kept us waiting for weeks but talked up the deal and we're going to make us a very good offer. Kept having to get things signed off and getting clearance etc etc. Would have been quite an interesting oportunity.

Eventually the "offer" turned up by email - and it was no kind of deal at all - they had missed the point about our service and they were not looking for a partnership.

So I forwarded it to our CEO and said
"Is this what we've been waiting four f***ing weeks for?
I could sh1t a better proposal than this"

Of course, instead of forwarding, I had replied. I realised what I'd done but the partner would not take my call. She just put the phone down each time I called. CEO called their CEO but the deal was trashed.

Am very much more careful these days about what I say and how I send it.

Were you fired?

Or send a text to the person you were talking about in the message by accident!

I heard of an occasion a few years back when a member of the Board of Directors of a south coast football club sent what he thought was a text message to his wife. The message was:- "We lost. We were complete crap".

Unfortunately it was received not by Mrs Director, but by the team manager.

I was once slagging a woman off at work and she was standing behind me. That didn't go down well.
