likewise, if you think it may be Gus he is 9/1 on skybet and will plummet shortly when McD staying at Reading is announced

Bad news. Reckon that means a second approach from Wolves and goodbye to Gus.

Still think Wolves may go for Lee Clark or Malkay Mackay (next week). Other obvious options would be Adkins or Freedman. ?Gordon Strachan, Paul Ince or Roy Keane.

Have Wolves approached Palace for Dougie yet? Because I understand he's the best young manager there is outside of the premiership, so it seems like an obvious choice.

I just cant see Wolves offering Gus enought o take him there if it wasnt even good enough for Curbishly. If he does go then its really not the end of the world, we are now a very attractive prospect for a whole host of managers, and I'd have total faith in Tony Bloom bringing in the right person.

It is inevitable that as Brighton progress Gus will be linked to every vacancy. Maybe Wolves would be a good stepping stone for him, but as per an earlier post, it'll take him some time to get them playing to his style, then it could be too late and he'll be back to square one. The other thing I don't know is whether Wolves are living the 'premiership dream' within budget or whether they are in debt. The ground is being improved (but was it really ever THAT bad?).

Didn't Wolves poach Mark McGhee from Reading previously or was it Leicester (lightening striking twice etc).

Maybe cos they are getting a bit desperate?

To be honest, if approached I think Gus will go. There is no chance at this moment that he would get the top prem jobs. With Wolves he will be in the Prem and have a decent chance of staying up. If he pulls off that trick and perhaps consolidates into a mid table side, then perhaps he would get that chance of a top job. Staying with us, then its gonna be a lot longer to take that route and Gus seems a man in a hurry.

If he goes, I'll be disappointed, but we would get another decent manager............might even be Curbishley.

If the Wolves board have already baulked at the compensation, why would they change their mind?
