I am aware of that. We are way off the pace from last season though in regards to controlling the game. Hopefully it is just the players getting up to speed.

In terms of "septic tank" 1) Google informs me it is cockney slang. I did not know Brighton used that? And 2) I am not from the north East of the US.
We English would name all US citizens as Yanks, we would not say Yankee though, and Cockney slang is borrowed countrywide when the example is a bit funny.

We were rusty last week, we weren’t perfect this week. Possibly the best first 2 games we could have started the season with. Almost like an extra mini preseason.

We also had 4 or 5 decent attacks in the 1st half just couldn’t get a shot away

I was completely unaware that I sounded like a cockney until I went to college (in Leicester) and met a shocking number of people who said "so, you're from London yeah?"

But why? I wouldn't call someone from Scotland English?

No point derailing the thread. It's just an accepted term for Americans in England, there's no point going into nuances that aren't there.

As to your other point. Of course we're rusty, not up to pace from last season. We're only two games in, we've had the spine of our midfield removed, to expect anything less is slightly unrealistic in my opinion. Honestly this is seventh heaven compared to even 10 years ago let alone the 31 years ago when I started supporting the Albion. I'm loving and savouring every moment of it. 😁

Firstly, you should - they love it.

Regarding you septics - we're not all sailors that suck on limes

We do all like roast beef though (and anyone who says they don't is a bloody liar)

Just got home, had worse days, and topped off by one of the easiest drives back from the Midlands ever. No delays at all

From where I was stood, we were pressing them so far up the pitch (and in great numbers - often, Steele was the only player in our half when THEY had the ball - that we were always a bit susceptible to a quick counter and that’s where their better chances came from. Their finishing was, however, utter dogshit (again), and ours was properly clinical especially in that magic 10 mins at the start of the second. Great displays from Enciso, March, Gilmour, Estupiñan and Mitoma in particular but everyone had a decent game. Two wins from two with a squad still gelling and being rotated. Happy days.
