Withdean Stewards - potentially going to get us relegated?

Forget standing up once you're inside the ground, at withdean, even looking like you've had a good time pre-match in a pub is enough for you to be refused entry. Approach the turnstiles singing in a group and they'll refuse you entry. You might just have had a couple of pints but in a stewards eyes you're out of control and nothing more than a p***ed hooligan waiting to happen. No wonder the atmosphere is terrible thereafter. No one's allowed to get remotely excited without fear of ejection.

And that's going to affect our players, so are the Withdean Stasi now directly contributing to the terrible home form over the past few seasons? And now is this potentially going to get us relegated? Maybe about time Ken "Ghost" Brown actually proved he's real and took them all a side and said look the other way re: flags, sirens etc like at other grounds? :wrong:

They are tossers but it's not them who will relegate us.
I've only been once this season at home and won't bother again. It's a horrible experience.

I can't help but think that if the stewards are bad at Withdean, then they may be a helluva lot worse at Falmer

So Gus, why did you lose todays game?

"Well, it was the stewards to blame today"

Hahaha

Rightly or wrongly, that will be the same at most grounds. Always best to keep your gob shut until inside.

Rubbish - the stewards are enforcing the exact same policies that they always have and there was a decent atmosphere under Adams first stint.

The atmosphere is crap because the team are playing crap and we've only seen two wins all season.

You are the kind of person who would agree to pay tax on your lawn were the government/law to demand it.

I guess you lost your opinion when you had the 'snip'?

I am not suggesting that the crowd plays a huge part, but do you not feel that the away crowd DO PLAY THEIR PART in getting results?

Our away support is fantastic and it is great being part of it, but does it actually influence results? I doubt it very much.

Same goes for the poor atmosphere at Withdean.

Results are influenced by what the players do on the pitch - our strengths and weaknesses, oppostion strengths and weaknesses...and decisions by the officials.

I'd prefer to stand in a good crowd with a great atmosphere, but, sadly, that's not the way things are. Maybe one day...

Don't blame the stewards who, like it or not, are doing what they're told to do.

Wow - what a well argued point :bla:

Go on then, how are the stewards any more responsible for the atmosphere now than they were when we were winning chanpionships ? Didn't see any of these type of threads in those days. There are only three people to blame :

> The manager
> The players
> Us

No doubt stewards can effect fans' enjoyment and that can effect the atmosphere with no-one singing etc - Walsall fans in their new stadium have the same problem that they are afraid to show any excitement for fear of getting kicked out. There must be a way that fans can be allowed to get behind the team without impacting on the enjoyment of others which is always the stewards' raison d'etre for acting zealously.

That said I have been to plenty of grounds with no atmosphere and the home side still, invariably, wins more than it loses................................

None of your buisness
The only way the stewards can get us relegated is if they start playing for the the Albion.
