[Technology] Windows laptops

‘Er indoors wants a new laptop to replace her chromebook. Reasons being she wants :
1. manage her music on it using iTunes (she uses an ipod mostly but iPhone sometimes)
2. manage/edit her photos (nothing as complex as photoshop, just trimming/resizing etc)
3. better display

I’ve not used Windows since W7, being a macbook and linux user, and I’d have to “administer” it for her.

Budget is up to £400.

Any recommendations or suggestions ?

Also, for that list of tasks a rip-off Apple is overkill.
Any new laptop should be fine, i5 upwards.

Go refurbished, all day long - I've got powerful Dell laptops/dekstops that I used for data processing running servers for various little hobbies all for under £400 and way more umph than you need....

Daughter has an ASUS laptop for her school and now college stuff. She plays a lot of games on it and it's been pretty good without issues for the last couple of years.
