Women players have offered on numerous occasions to play best of five sets.

The LTA won't allow it because they wouldn't be able to fit the tournament into the 2 weeks.

I prefer the idea of them playing 5 sets like the men and getting paid less money than the men like the good old days. Why? Because womens tennis is absolutely shit and they expend less POWER than the men. Less power->less effort->less PAY.

In all seriousness - Men's tennis is a lot more competitive and a lot more tiring. Despite Federer tending to dominate, there is not such a disparity in the standard of mens tennis. Frequently, most of the top ladies will win their first four games 6-1 6-2 etc. playing for less than an hour.

If the vast majority of the money is created through gate receipts and sponsorship, then the men should be entitled to more?

though regarding wimbledon, i reckon ALL matches should be 3 dets, to avoid any men feling put out, and also avoid the usual bad weather backlogs..
