I don't, but really probably should do. "Mrs" P and I are not actually married, so although we co-own our property 50/50 I am not sure of any legal claim she may have on my half if I snuff it.

My will is way out of date & meaningless. Can anyone recommend a decent local solicitor who charges (almost) reasonable rates? I live in Brighton. Thanks!

Out of date it may be, but should you die, your executors will have to try and make sense of it - update ASAP :clap2:

Why post this Shropshire - you're not a solicitor touting for business are you? :D

Made mine as soon as I became a home owner. It's really important to do if you're not legally married to your partner (as I am), otherwise he/she could be left high and dry.

No, I'm not a solicitor .....

I was just interested to see the response - suprised how many (40%) don't have one but recognise that they should.

For all those that don't think they need one, either as they have no partner or kids, or don't belive they have any assets may I suggest you make a one liner will that says something like "I leave all my worldly goods to Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club" (or whoever). It's suprising what pops up when people die, some employers pay death in service, even your car will be sold as part of your "estate" so don't let the money go to the government (which will happen if you die intestate) make sure it goes to a cause you support ....
