Will we be the first team to get promoted?

Without wishing to count chickens, it looks like it's going to be a straight race between us, QPR and Cheaterfield...

Cheats are about 15 points clear of 4 th I think so I reckon will be then.

Would love us to hit 80 points by April though

Would imagine Crawley will get that honour. 3 points clear, 5 games in hand a superior goal difference and also 5 games between now and end of the month.

Think it'll be QPR of Cheats as both have bigger leads than we do. Mind you both have played three more games than us. We have a better points per game average than either of them but QPR have a huge GD advantage over their rivals. Only Reading are less than 20 goals behind and they are barely on the fringe of the play off. Of course as we will be catching both with games played by the end of the month this position could well change. At the end of the day we still need to stay focused on winning every game but that's obvious.

Last season, Newport County became champions of Blue Square South and achieved promotion into the Conference Premier on March 15th ... with seven games left to play. They ended the season 28 points clear of the team in second place.

Don't forget QPR might be facing a points deduction  Cheaterfield were caught handing out brown envelopes stuffed with cash to their staff which resulted in a 9 point deduction but they still got promoted the same season as we went up as L2 Champions.

Don't forget that we finished more than 9 points clear of them too, thus showing that maths really wasn't their strong point in those days as they still claimed that they were the "real" champions.
