and once again, it depends on how the alternative is deployed. the majority of people in the the Brighton and Hove, and wider catchment area, are going to travel in via Brighton Station and 100% will have mobile phones. if tickets are available on the day at the shop, at the station or by texting to charge up some smart card, it will work out just fine.

No, 20% of he crowd max will be able to travel by train.

What percentage of people go by train from Withdean? Even when there's a big gate the trains never seem that busy, I always got the impression most travelled by local bus?

Depends on:

Pricing

How easy to get Tickets

How well the team are performing/results.

Good combination of the above - with the club in the Championship we could be as high as 18,000 for decent opposition with a good away following.(Look at what Reading did when they first got their new stadium)

Bad combination of the above - high prices, hard to get tickets (or percieved hard to get tickets by the casual fan) and crap performances - 8-10k if we're lucky.

i argue

Not Luton! Thank God
You don't get it do you? Have i once mentioned success on the field? I'm talking about fan base please read my post more carefully. As for you saying you have a worse ground then us LOL.Why do i bother?
We have a bigger fan base then you regardless of the current situation.Matter closed.

Are we getting into a my dad would beat your dad territory, or are you going offer up some evidence as to why you have a bigger fanbase?

A bit harsh ! Firstly, how do you measure fan base ? By the potential fan base in the local population ? What deems the catchment area of local population ? Impossible to compare and therefore a pretty fruitless discussion.

It depends how you measure it. If we're talking crowds, we win easily. You haven't had a crowd of 20,000 in living memory of most middle aged people, you've had top flight gates of 6,000 as recently as the 90s and when you got to the cup semi final in 1988, the game was watched by a meagre 28,000 (in a stadium which held 45,000 at the time) and that has to be the lowest post war FA Cup semi final gate. I don't know what your away support is now, but I do know that 3, 4 and 5 seasons ago it was miles lower than ours according to figures released in *your* matchday programmes.

Mind you, you have spent about 8 seasons in the top flight compared to our meagre 4, and you won a league cup too and got to a FA Cup semi or 2, whereas our best cup performance was our single FA Cup final appearance.
