It’s all very quiet still.

You’d like to think we’d get deals over the line ASAP.

Will be very concerned if we don’t get a striker in. That said I have complete and utter faith in Uncle Tony, Barber and GP.

Has there been a transfer window when we didn’t all think we needed a striker?

Usually players get cheaper by the end of the month when clubs start getting more desperate to sell and players to leave. Dont see much happening though

Why would the club wait? If they are going too do business, they will do the business if and when they want.

They waited before, seem to remember failed bids going in at the last minute for Vincent Janssen (tho think we definitely dodged one there).

No

They will do the business when the target wants.

Which will probably be in late Jan

Yeh, we were a bit desperate then, I think. And hadn't we tried and failed to get someone else in so made a last minute dash for Janssen? I don't believe we're so desperate now.

Would like to see a couple of additions, but just have a feeling GP will go with what he's got and have more of an overhaul in the summer - assuming we stay up.

If a lengthy e-mail is required to get a deal over the line then me too!

I hope that we bring in a striker probably on loan but cannot think of one other than the 2 at Chelsea, Giroud and Batashuayi who are both unlikely I would think.

I fear you are going to be sooo disappointed.

Yes - you are right. He played a small number of games in Mexico in August before going to Spain, so is already at his maximum 2 clubs for the season.

33 now, and struggled somehat during his last loan spell with us two seasons ago anyway. Why would he do any better now? I'm sure there are better loan options out there, should we be interested.

The admittedly not spelled out, underlying point was really that at 10:30pm on deadline day when all other possibilities have failed, it was a do-able deal. In reality, it isn't possible anyway.
