Will the Albion ever play a Champions League game ?

Nothing is impossible, but let's take things one step at a time. First thing's first is to aim for the play-offs, then we can go from there. If we reach the Premier League and can bring in extra talent, we can easily push for a decent finish in the coming seasons.

No.

Lets be realistic shall we. We do not have the heritage, fanbase, funding or stadium to ever seriously challenge the top 4 teams in the country. The best we could ever aspire to is to do a Swansea (or a Reading a few years back) and perhaps achieve a top half finish in the Premier League. That would be MIRACULOUS. But to actually break into the top 4 ?

Forget it.

More chance of Palace moving to that lovely drawing of a new ground.

TOTALLY depends on whether the financial structure of the game is changed.

As it currently stands, no chance.

Not in my opinion. It would take so long to build up the financial resources to challenge for a top 4 Premiership place, and all that time the money the current "big clubs" have will get greater and greater. The Premiership has ruined English Football for ever.

I think there is a chance of fourth spot. I think Southampton will be pretenders next season like Newcastle this season.

Just before I jump all over this post, can you clarify where you think southampton will finish next season?

Midway amongst the Stokes and Fulhams. But I think they will get a good start and then fade away when they are sussed out.

Fair enough, but then that's no indication there'll ever be a chance for us to finish fourth. Newcastle are much bigger than clubs like us or SCC and I never thought there was a chance of Newcastle finishing in the top 4. It was clear they were just on a good temporary run.

In Football Manager I finished fourth in the prem in the '13-'14 season and got us a league title win and a run to the CL QF in the '14-'15 season.

So it's definitely possible.

Clearly you've never played Football Manager/Championship Manager!

I heard an interesting vision of the year 3000AD, written by three young philosophers from Southend, which predicted that not much will change, but we'll live under water. And one of my distant female relatives will be pretty physically attractive.

Also I think one of the people in the video had three tits.

I reckon what with us all being sub-aquatic fish-monsters, and Brighton having an evolutionary head start by living near the beach, we will become champions of European football.

Yes, if they introduce a place for FA Cup winners.

This.
Top 2 in the Prem automatically get a place, then 3-6 have a play-off style competition.
4th CL place goes to FA Cup winner.

Does the Carling Cup currently get you a Europa place? If not, it should.
