[Albion] Will RDZ be Brighton manager first game of the 24/25 season?

Seemingly a large percentage think RDZ will be off before the start of next season so let’s put it to the vote.

When he left Sassuolo he said

Before last week’s game with Genoa, I spoke to the club and the players. I told them I have decided to leave. It’s a decision that really troubled me, I am not happy about it, but I am doing this because I don’t think I can give anything else to this team,” De Zerbi told Sky Sport Italia.

“I feel that I’ve reached the maximum with them after three years. I hope another coach can come in and do even better. I realise that I am something of a strain on the players.

Could we find ourselves in a similar situation, will he feel he can’t take the club any further?

I think he will be here next season and gone yes as I’m not sure the big jobs will be there for him just yet, but would never be surprised if he felt he had gone as far as he could with us.

I don't think a 'big job' would be his only reason for leaving. He's passionate, and I think he'll go when he feels like it.

I'm also passionate about as not getting absolutely spanked 4 - 0 by Luton Town again, so don't really care if he's here next season or not.

This club is bigger than RDZ.

I think he'll be off. Similar to the quote above there was something said either by him or one of his coaching team around the time he joined about how he has a 2 year shelf life before his intensity is too much, probably for him as much as anyone else.

I would have voted no at the start of the season. If we have a monumentally good end of the season and qualify for the Champions League then there's a chance he might stay but otherwise I think there will be a parting of the ways. And that's fine. We move on. But it would be lovely if he stayed if all parties are happy because he's a great coach.

Nah, I don't think so.

As I've said elsewhere, in response to those who say "which club will he go to then?", I think the walk-off-into-the-sunset outcome is more likely, particularly after the January transfer window. And I said that with no knowledge of his Sassuolo exit.

I hope not, obviously - he's almost certainly the best manager we've had and great entertainment with it. He's taken the club to heights that few thought possible, and we may go higher still...

His recent attitude will not have gone unnoticed by Tony and David Weir, of course.
If he truly is on his way out at the end of the season we will have had plenty of time to have dusted off the succession plan list of alternatives, and maybe have done some work to assess their ‘availability’.
Managers like Francesco Farioli, for example who is doing an amazing job at Nice.
I’d love Roberto to stay a third year and maybe he’ll do that and then take over from Pep. However, I think he’ll be offered the Barcelona job and will go.
We always have a succession plan and often go back for players we’ve been previously linked with. Eg Naylor’s comments about Dewsbury- Hall and Ibrahim Osman.

I think after this transfer window, the club haven’t supported him with the right players to compete at the level we are at, so I think he will be off. Real shame if I’m right, I hope not but we can’t keep selling quality player and replacing them with the likes of Dahoud etc

It is starting to feel a bit Poyet, but get a few wins under the belt and I'm sure that will fade away. With RDZ the highs are very high and the lows feel lower by comparison, but we're still in our best ever period.

I think he's too risky for a big job. Experimental but poor defensively doesn't bring titles.

I think he'll be here in September but that might be the last season we get.

Makes me laugh those who think it will be easy to replace RDZ because of our succession planning and recruitment. Yes, we upgraded from Cucurella to Estupinan, and Potter to De Zerbi - BUT the hole left by Mac Allister and Caicedo has been bloody hard to fill. As people keep pointing out on here when anyone questions why Caicedo wasn't replaced adequately, it's because once you get to a certain standard, better or like for like replacements aren't always available, don't work within our financials or are just unwilling to come to us.

If he leaves it wouldn’t be for a bigger job. I think he still has too many limitations to take on somewhere success is expected.

Still think he’ll be off in the summer but that’ll be him choosing to call it a day instead of going elsewhere.
