Sorry if fixtures, but just seen this on the BBC:

Millwall are keeping tabs on Brighton boss Dean Wilkins who has yet to sign a contract at the Seagulls. (People)

Brighton may also be losing winger Dean Cox who is attracting interest from Portsmouth and Southampton. (People)

First one is unlikely IMO, but the second one? :nono: I know he's just signed a new contract but I would think an offer from Pompey would be a bit too good to refuse...

We should give Wilkins at least another year though, not that he's ever going to Millwall.

What a load of crap from The People, DW has signed a contract untill end of the season and aint going anywhere. I'm alittle worried that we might sale Coxy in the transfer window, if Portsmouth offer us £750,000 for him then we'll have to accept. We're not in a position to reject these kind of offers, untill we're safely and firmly in Falmer.

Portsmouth should have come along 3 months ago they could have had him for £25,000. 5/6 good performances later, he might just be worth £100,000 given his age. £750,000 from a Premiership club is somebody's wet dream. And it's probably his agent's.

I've followed Brighton for 46 years and Cox is one of the best young players to have ever played for us.
If we sold him for £100,000, I would give my season ticket to Norman Faker and live in a Hare Krishna ashram.

It wouldn't surprise me if Cox is the first to go, he looks a complete player, probably then Henderson next. Lynch and Robinson still have lots of kinks to iron out in their game, Hinsh is still making the odd error too, and I really wonder if clubs would make the kind of offers that DK couldn't refuse for those players, sceptical at the moment.

What price would be reasonable for Cox? £300,000-£500,000 plus big sell-on?

We wouldn't sell Cox for £300k. It would be an admission that we have no ambition whatsoever, which would be fatal as we try to draw the crowds back.

Fair enough, what figure then? We are a selling club. No disgrace in that in our current circumstances.

We sold the very influential Darren Currie for £250,000, who I think we've established at least takes better corners than Cox, if nothing else :)

Currie didn't have age on his side.Cox does.No less then 750k.Play makers are hard to find, especially at such a young tender age.Cox value will only increase with age.He is a big star in the making. He has excellent vision, wicked finishing and can cut open a defence with his pin point passing.I've never seen a more gifted player in a Albion shirt in his posistion

Wouldn't disagree with any of that. £750,000 it is then. Let's hope that's enough to scare off the clubs who I think will be looking very hard at him, he is head and shoulders our best player.
