Hi, know i dont post very often but i thought you would be interested in this , a mate of mine is a friend of DW it all went wrong during the transfer window dk was responsible for buying Dixon DW went mad and the rest is history also it was thompson who went around DKs house telling DK that wilkins had no man managment skills. It seems it was a knee jerk reaction from knight who was fed up from the discontent from the phone in and on the message boards also wilkins was very anti Alex Revell leaving it all went very sour after that.

An interesting account.

Of course, we have no idea whether your posting is any more true than the character assasination by Lord bracknell of Wilkins, who posted Dick Knights version on this board.

I do however find it odd, that we paid £50,000 for a player like Dixon, so soon after the phone-in when a very irritable Dick Knight told us how we "would be surprised at the quality of imminent new signings" following his decision to decimate our midfield.

I was also surprised to see Alex Revell go so quickly too..........always seemed to be in Wilkins squad.

Was Thomson another of those "quality new signings".....?

Can't imagine Dean wilkins was that pleased to have Thomson instead of Hammond and O'Callaghan.

Given the state of the club now, and the growing dis-content, is it not time for Dick Knight to TRULY say what happened...?

If he wishes to go down the route of "mental illness" of Wilkins, which has been more than hinted at by one or two prominent posters, and it isn,t true........this would at last give Wilkins the right.....and opportunity to state his case.

All we seem to have had so far, are those "Dick Knight does no wrong "brigade repeating Dick Knights private musings.

Strikes me, it could be "spin doctoring" at it's best.

Unfortunately Dean like lots of managers before will not be able to say what really happened -When do we ever hear why a manager goes from this club? Are they told to sign a shut up clause? they never say much do they ?

There have been more than enough pro-Wilkins musings too, some claiming to know The Truth accompanied by various attempts to discredit Knight so to suggest it has all been pro-Knight is clearly not accurate.

I, like the majority on here, have no idea what led to Wilkins leaving so I prefer not to speculate about the causes. I'll also wait until we hear from both parties involved-and it does need to be from both-before I form an opinion. One thing's for sure, all of the anti-Adams/anti-Knight nonsense on here because of what happened to Wilkins is not helping the club in any way. There's nothing new being said-just a regurgitation of the same old vitriol. Why not save your anger until you find out what really happened-or are the pro-Wilkins faction desperate for Adams to fail simply because he's not Wilkins? I'm pro-Albion and Adams is the manager, I have no control over that so while he's in charge he has my support.

Speaking of regurgitating the same old, same old...you must have repeated this at least a dozen times.

What evidence do you have to suggest they are told to shut up?

Do you hear from other managers of other clubs when they leave or get fired? Why should we be any different?

criticising a former employer doesn't do much for your future job prospects or pay off.

I've posted a number of times the in depth truth of why Wilkins went, but a quick fire way of putting it, is... Dick Knight is so far up Micky Adam's arse, and micky Adams is so far up Dick Knights arse, it was a match made in heaven

Dean Wilkins got the sack 'cause he aint Micky Adams, and the main money men on the board thought Micky Adams, as manager, looked better than Dean Wilkins as manager, and thought the fans would love them for bringing back the legend that is Micky Adams.

This is why no matter how bad it gets, Dick Knight will not sack Micky Adams, and thats why in his own words Adam's has let things slip, cause he basically hasn't any worries about losing his job, so doesn't really give a f***, as he has proved by letting things slide

This is why we have seen a squad on the brink of promotion last season, change into a squad that looks set for relagation this.

And this is why next season, providing they have a good run in, we could see the first all Sussex football league match played next year against Crawley.

I think in most cases when a manager is fired, it's usually pretty obvious to all and sundry as to the reasons why.

Nearly always, it is the league position of the club that dictates why a manager is fired.

In Wilkins case, this is patently not the case. Therefore there must be other over-riding reasons.................none of which have been made clear, so it leaves the debate open to question.

You have stated your opnions (which you are entitled to do..) many times...........and they have yet to be proven wrong. Before Nemises yet again, regurgitates his ususally offensive replies to you, there has been no statements of fact from Dick Knight or the club to dispute you.

All there has been so far, is Lord Bracknell, who, as we all know, is a much respected poster.............(..but............is a strong supporter of Dick Knight and closer to his ear than most of us) repeating some of Dick Knight,s musings, and successfully tarnishing Dean Wilkins reputation.

I find this all rather odd.

If Dean Wilkins was soooooooooooo bad........why didn,t DK just fire him in January 2008........?

If Dean Wilkins was sooooooooooooo bad..........why is DK supposed to have offered him the first team coach position.................and wait a considerable time for the resulting...."no thanks" from Dean Wilkins.........?

I don't know of course..........but from the outside looking in.........it looks like Dean Wilkins has been royally shafted, for the re-union of old friends (Adams/Knight).............and a considerable amount of damaging "spin" to Wilkins, delivered by those who have DK,s ear.

IF the above is true............and it,s only an opinion........there would surely be concern over the conduct of our Chairman.

There is a rising concern over the Albion lately, and a clarification of what really happened, might be a good way of uniting all us fans and restoring the faith and belief in the present custodians of our club.

That sums it up in a nutshell.

Deal was done in Jan/Feb, not really Dick Knights doing, but he did little to stop it.

It's a shame you added this paragraph - you do seem to have some inside knowledge, but this is rubbish..
MA (or any manager..) wouldn't deliberatley let things turn to turd because they think they won't lose their job..crazy..

MA has his pride (whats left of it..!) ; He's currently just a poor manager; lets hope he gets better quickly..

I suspect DK and rest of board are weighing up how they can pay off TWO managers and still pay for another before pulling any trigger..

I know a bit of a silly comment that, but it's out of frustion and anger the way the club have handled this whole affair, and how they continue to let the playing side of things rot.

But the way he has let things slide is a disgrase, and I cannot see any other manager, at any other club get away with what he has let happen at this club, and I'm sure it's only his "best pals act" with Dick Knight that has kept him in his job. While I wouldn't for one second say he's deliberateley let things slip, he doesn't seem to have done an awful lot to stop it.

A more blustering outburst I have yet to read.

Got lots of responses though
