So in other words the controller isn't good enough as it is so are expecting people to fork out more to buy something which makes it better. You may as well plaster "Factory Seconds" on the original remote box :dunce:

There is Beach Sports, which has cricket as one of the games. It's nowhere near the real thing, but it's a bit of fun if you take it at face value (one of 5 games in a a game that costs £12). There is a devoted cricket game coming out, but it's by a shit developer, and only costing £18. It is going to be truly, horrifically gash. I did have one on pre-order but cancelled it. Also no idea when it's going to be out; was meant to be last month but keeps getting pushed back.

Eventually I suspect either Codemasters or EA will come up with a proper cricket game; although apparently neither have anything immeadiately in the pipeline.

If its EA (who would probably do the best job), a cricket game would inevitably need to be affiliated and endorsed by someone BIG and FAMOUS within the game. However, being as EA are an American developer, I doubt they've even heard of cricket.

The last couple of years the Playstation/PC EA Sports versions have had Freddie on the front. They also (as with all other sports) have the official players for all the counties and Aussie state teams. They normally I think have a British team working on the game; and generally they are pretty good games. Brian Lara is probably more fun, but generally the EA games represent the feel of cricket a bit better.

What we need is a mixture of the two. The ability to just turn it on and play a quick game, kind of like Stick Cricket, and a career mode where you start off as a 2 XI player and work your way up to being an England player.

Having now read the article (it was blocked at work), I completely agree.

"The Wii MotionPlus accessory attaches to the end of the Wii Remote and, combined with the accelerometer and the sensor bar, allows for more comprehensive tracking of a player's arm position and orientation, providing players with an unmatched level of precision and immersion," says Nintendo. "Every slight movement players make with their wrist or arm is rendered identically in real time on the screen, providing a true 1:1 response in their game play. The Wii MotionPlus accessory reconfirms Nintendo's commitment to making games intuitive and accessible for everyone."

Sorry, but what a load of SHIT. Thats what the Wii Remote already does, or at least its SUPPOSED to. Its already amazingly responsive, so quite what else this thing will bring to the table I have no idea. But if its being presented as some kind of "breakthrough" - well, why not build it into the original remote ?

Oh, well its obvious I suppose.

But surely that's progress ? Since the original release they've found how to improve the design etc ? Using your arguement Sony should not have released the PS1 and PS2 because the PS3 it where they should have started. :p
