Have the Albion been near the bottom of league 1 for what seems like ever?

I really thought that tonight would be the night that we would climb up the table, never to look over our shoulder again.

However, I now look at saturday's game with trepidation. Millwall will comfortably beat us I expect.

The players are average, we haven't made many new signings yet, we don't have a left winger, we have a new manager trying to get the team playing a new style of football.

Things take time. Unfortunately we don't have a lot of it. 4 months until the end of the season , 18 months till the new stadium

Removing Wilkins is the the key to our woes and appointing Adams - Knight out (oh hang on thankfully he is)

Agreed man for man we are much better, but some how we struggled against bottom of the table. Stockport, a team who have a worse home record than we do

Losing mentality created by MA which Slade wasn't quite good enough to properly turn around, but which I believe Poyet will do (is doing) given time.

I know people are obsessed with their WHOLESALE CLEAROUTS but its cretinous nonsense and has been repeated ad nauseam by the same tedious morons since about 1956.

The squad needs a little tweaking with a handful of players let go and a handful brought in. Nothing more than that. Gus will do it.

A team doesn't turn into world beaters overnight. We have been a poor side for quite a long time. Poyet seems to be dragging us in the right direction, but we are not going to have everything going our way. The middle of the division is exceedingly tight and the odd result might see us climb towards the top half.

I would put this result down to Stockport having nothing to lose and the players being slightly jaded from the Villa game.

Oh, I missed out the home form.

Something HAS to be done about the home form.

On this months podcast, Tunicliffe, who has only been here 5 minutes, basically says it himself that playing at withdean is shit.

Because our home form is dogshit and we can only raise our game for 'glamour' games?

Ker-ching!

ps Here's to our hapless mob pretending that they're away to our illustrious opponents on Sat then. Oh, & having a New Year tipple or 4 with you, Mr H, & agreeing with everything each other says.

I didn't go tonight, obviously, but it was never going to be the walkover people were thinking it would for numerous reasons. We're going in the right direction, and although we're still only just above the relegation zone we're also only 3 points from 12th. And getting results.

Get a couple more in, then dip into the loan market for the rest of the season. Should see us through till the end. Close season, clear out the shit and bring in the quality needed to mount a serious bid for promotion next year.

We haven't lost in the league for a while though. Things are going OK...
Another interesting fact (if slightly meaningless) is that we haven't failed to score away from home in the league since Brentford - our first away game of the season.
