Now I must say...what a transformation!

I guess Ive kind of got used to the last 2 years of dull football, uninspired players who on paper look the bolloc*s but in real terms dont actually do it. There was always a feeling of, I just dont get why were struggling, Poyet has nailed it and weve turned the first corner.

I feel firstly Poyet has gone in and ripped the party boy image out of the club. Dean Cox removed, Liam Dickinson removed, Andrew I like a good drink Whing removed, Tunnicliife removed and others!

Im not saying ive got proof of these guys on the lash everyday, but the stories of seeing them out has got less, because of this the mentality seems to have changed. Weve got proper old school pro's at the back in the shape of our new legend in the making Calderon and the very impressive and consistant Painter,....this imho is bringing out the best in younger heads like Elphick and El abd who from no where seem to be discovering their best form!

Add that to the respect Tarrico & Poyet seemed to install and working to a formation that at the moment is working the smile on my face is broad....mid table football doesnt seem dull & going again is enjoyable irrelevant of the fact we have nothing to play for.

Its now nice that we have some positive things to say after a number of decent games weve won or even lost but we still imho played well...ie Norwich!

Next seasons going to be a real good one and the summers going to be a fun time to see what strings he pulls.

Which is why I'm not sad to see Forster and Whing (and Kuipers?) go. It was apparent right through the Adams and Slade period, and indeed the beginning of Poyet, that there was an attitude problem amongst the players, and you have to look at the senior players for that. We might have praised Forster and Whing for their performances at the time, but they can't have been leading by example in all aspects

Despite their very steady play, this might be the most significant long term contribution Painter and Calderon make to the club.

Way out West
Had a quick chat with Painter's dad after the game - he said Marcos is really loving it at the Albion and very much hoping he can sign permanently. I reassured him that we would LOVE it if he did!

What yesterday proved was that you can pass in this division and can still win without playing hoofball. The transformation in Elphick and El Abd in passing the ball out is unbelievable and we are now not giving possession away straight away. It requires patience from the players and the fans but the proof of its success is in the results.

Erm, with the exception of Cox, they're all out on loan. Perhaps that's why we don't hear of them out in local clubs?
