Is it just me or have nearly all the Brighton fans loas their minds. only four months ago we where at Cardiff singing and dancing and praising the same bunch of players and the mangement. 3 league defeats and a poor cup game and all of a sudden the players are worthless the managers crap.

this is b******s are team IS good enough to stay up and our manager is the one to do it. its a poor start to a season but that is all. No doubt we are struggling to find our feet in a very good division but we have a brand new midfield with a defender in the centre so of course it will take time to settle. But mark my words mcghee will turn it around and with the return of key players results will begin to happen and we will fight to survive in this league. For all those who dont believe this don't turn up cause at brighton we need supporters who SUPPORT their team.

I would rather have 2 thousand fans at withdean who sung and gave there spport than have a full house with people who moan about every poor pass.

Yep, agree. Wigan, Coventry and Reading is not an easy start. I shall be re-assessing my views after having played teams that could be considered closer to our level (and after having played more than 4 games).

I'll be making my judgment when we get our first choice central midfield back and we sign our elusive targetman - it won't be immediately but I just don't think it will be too long before we get both of those things.

The trouble with playing Wigan is that every single one of their players was better than the Albion equivalent. Without setting the Division alight, they are going to win it, cause all the sides are comparatively worst.

If we wanted to win at Wigan we would have need 15 new players.

It is not the issue. Wigan are the only team to have beaten as outasight in the last five years or so, West Ham, Leicester, Wolves and the other sides are not up to the Wigan standard.

The thing is we have played teams at the top of the table. If you subtract the points they gained against us the table would read

Pos Team P Pts
1 Stoke City 4 8
2 Ipswich Town 4 7
3 Millwall 4 7
4 West Ham United 4 7
5 Wigan Athletic 3 7
6 Plymouth Argyle 3 7
7 Reading 3 6
8 Watford 4 6
9 Derby County 4 6
10 Burnley 4 6
11 Gillingham 4 6

So the fixture PC wasn't too kind to us, but things will get better - it's just important to get that first win.

Just phoned the ticket office and Watford tickets are now on the way!!!

Like Bristol Rovers !!

I too think that we shall be OK because of MM experience and knowledge but life would be much simpler if the money to pay the wages of a big striker could be found from somewhere.

There's always going to be cup upsets and we are probably more likely to suffer than other teams to that because we could be said to be in a position that doesn't reflect the state our club is in ie. we cannot financially consolidate what we have achieved. Bigger and better teams than us have and always will fall to lesser opposition because the smaller teams are more up for it. Sad but true.

Yes, Wigan and Plymouth maybe both wondering why league form doesn't automatically mean you win cup games too.

I take it you have seen us play this season then?

If you have you will know why there is so much negative feeling about the place.

Many people said after the Cardiff game that we would need to strengthen our squad to have a chance of staying in this division. What I have seen so far does not make me believe that what we have done in bringing in the 4 players actually changes my mind. Currie is a class act and always has been, but if you have a centre forward who cannot header the ball then he might as well not play.

The defence really worries me. Cullip and Butters have had a poor start, Harding looks out of sorts and Virgo is Mr Long Ball hoof at the moment. Shankley always said that a side must be built from the back and I agree 100% with this. If we stop shipping goals, as we did last year then scraping an odd goal here and there will pay dividends. Letting in 2 or three a game is not going to help.

Anyone want to tell me where they recon the first win is coming from? QPR at home maybe.

Agree 100% everybody poo- pooed Chris Kamara when he said on Sky the day after the play off finals that we would need 7 players to have a chance of staying up this season.

I seem to remember Peter Taylor saying similar when we went up last time but nobody listened. Has nobody learnt from the last venture into Div 1. It is ridiclulous to say I would rather one season in the championship even if we do get relegated because the financial implications in the Championship are far greater than in what is now Div 1.

The two that come to mind immediately are Players Wages and we would sell out if near the top of Div 1.

We have not won a game... I am NOT in a state of panic (yet), but anyone who has actually watched most of our games (i've only missed Wigan) would have to say that we look like a side that cannot currently compete in The Championship...

MM is still 2 players short of his promised haul of new signings... we are still missing a target man and a central defender...

When we have these, and Carpenter and Rodger are fit (note the deliberate omission of Charlie), then we (hopefully) will be able to compete...

As usual, we are far too slow in the transfer market and, as a result, will be playing catch-up for the rest of the season...

I still think we can do it, but some peaople on here ARE wearing rose-tinted spectacles...
