Conte, Klopp, Tuchel etc all in their 50,s or abouts multi millionaires vastly experienced and winners so as daft as it seems and remember this is football would any of the above rule out Brighton ? They know the club is a well run stable business with a strong positive reputation and they just think why not. Just remember Bamber got Big Mouth and his Mate.
Klopp has already said that he won’t coach any other English team, so that’s him ruled out for starters.

I think the OP is on to something an may have sussed what the club is up to.

The reason we haven’t appointed anyone yet is all the managers we’ve interviewed have been told it’s just a year long contract and they are keeping the seat warm for Pep when he leaves City at the end of next season.

Mourinho? Tuchel? Ten Hag? Poch?
Linking us with Mourinho is the best way to get the fans to unite behind Potter I could possibly think of

And that worked out well!

What about one from the People's Republic of Brighton & Hove?

Conte is the antihesis of how we want to play football, besides all 3 are proper managers who will want to control all aspects of the club.

We're looking for a yes man to coach the players we buy.

Taking OC at face value, here is why;

1) Why would top managers with ambitions to win trophies want to come to Brighton? They could go to a top club in another European league and be a big fish in a smaller, less competitive pond. You’d be much more likely to ever win anything going to say, Benfica, Porto, Galatasaray, Olympiakos as “B” tier teams relative to Barcelona, Manchester United, Real Madrid etc.

2) If they were not desired by the bigger clubs, they’re probably on a bad run, so why would we want them? Especially because…

3) They’ll be on a big salary, with expectations for squad strengthening we are unable and/or unwilling to fulfil in order to keep within our budgets
