Why is the Big Board open to anything?

Just wondered why the Big Board is open to all sorts of discussion and not just the BHA chat which we're all here for?
It seems to be a bit of a free for all on here, with topics started willy nilly half of which are nothing to do with BHA. Surely anything off the BHA topic should be separated?
Can anyone explain or am I missing something?

NSC covers the lot for me, some good BHA chat, banter and general footy stuff, covers the cricket well too.All sport gets a look in, it is a great vehicle for bringing back memories of past days, be it Albion or just a good old reminisce about ale! Also its been very supportive to a lot of people I am sure, me for one, when going through tough times. All in all its great

NSC is a message board for football fans....my missus often thinks we are all sad on here because we rarely talk football...well mainly me but because i frequent the boards she includes all of us,oh and by the way,Cheese & baked beans,salt n pepper.
