Why is everyone so downbeat about getting one of those 900 general sale AMEX tickets?

Based on the way the season tickets are going they're saying that only 900 will be on general sale. Now, why is everyone so downbeat about the chances of getting one? If you get to the club shop at opening on the day of tickets going on sale surely you'll be able to get one? Or am I wrong in thinking you can?

Not everyone can get to the club shop mid-week.

Its 900 plus whatever the away team dont sell, plus their may be some for sale in the south east that have not been taken up by hospitality etc.

Also demand wont be as high as 17000 or so people already have season tickets.

I'll be gutted if it's done by ballot. I'll be down there especially, day off work, day away from Uni, 440 mile round trip to pick one up, I'll probably be outside the shop around 5am, better safe than sorry ;)

I am accepting that we will very likely not get to the first game, it's hard to accept having supported them since 1967/8 but we live in Wales, a season ticket is just not a viable proposition, so we have no choice but to accept it.

That said, once things settle down we will get to see them play at Falmer, so not all is lost :)

Just buy a season ticket. Wether you can make every game or not at least you have one - That's my theory anyway. It's not that much cash.

I am resigned to missing the first games, but as tony has said, when things settle down. I am more worried about away matches when non STH will get second dibs after 18,000 STH.

If 1000 people go, then yes you are.

I can only assume this is a wind up......................

It's what us exiles have to do - you could still make 75% of home games i reckon, that's what i'm planning on doing. If the Albion made the cup final how much would you be prepared to pay for a ticket?

I have a belief in life - You can always make more money but can never have the time back again.

Only my opinion, but like you I have thought about away games, I dont think in the main there will be a problem getting tickets, maybe bigger games will present a small problem, many people buying season tickets will not use the advantage for away games.....(just hope i'm right )

I'm not going to start a "one to one" here, but peoples circumstances will all differ, you may well be in a position to do that, I CERTAINLY am not, and i'm sure that will apply to many exiles

As for an FA final cup ticket, I would pay the going face value rate and no more.

What do you do for a living?? and your age?..married with kids etc?

I can't really see why people are stressing either, even for the first match- there must be a good chance of everyone who wants a ticket getting a ticket, especially if priority is used for members/people who have bought tickets. Especially when considering the number of season tickets sold.

Around 30K went to the Millenium Stadium, i would expect about the same to want tickets for the 1st game at Falmer.

I agree that there will be a ginormous number trying to get tickets for the 1st home game , my concern is they will make 50% available for personal callers and the other half are sold online. The online tickets will all go in 90 seconds with friends and family block bookings (fans buying 15-20 tickets because they have friends and family all linked into their account).

Any unsold to the away club will just be empty, won't they?

Segregation and all that

Is this right? Can they segregate the away end for home and away fans? Also I thought that the 900 general sale tickets are in the South East corner, in the blocks that can't be sold as ST because of FA cup allocations.

Too slow ... Just seen posts above.
