Why has Harry Redknapp gone from 50/1 to 5/4 to be next sacked manager today?

Rumours were on here that Pompey were going to offer him the job again, with a Man City style warchest this time.

Just rumours, methinks.

Where'd you hear that?

I refuse to believe "used car salesman" 'Arry is dodgy.

there is another reason, how the bookies work. they make the a book and it needs to balance, if someone comes along and puts a big bet on, they will shift the market accordingly. add in the betfair markets now allow people to effectively hedge, i reckon its ripe for manipulation if you know what you are doing: put the right bets on and start a rumour and make a killing.

Betfair don't have a managerial change market at present so this is not the case on this occasion.

True to an extent, though the liquidity in the Betfair specials markets is all at the top of the list. It's one thing to ask for a big wedge at 50-1, quite another getting it matched (in fact, it will probably be self-defeating as it will stand out a mile).

Some unsubstantiated rumours on their forum suggest he had his collar felt this morning, fwiw.
