Why England don't DESERVE to win the World Cup for a long long time

I must confess to having watched a few Premiership matches live this season, and the one thing I noticed is the comfort the top players have on the ball and how they don't waste possession. Watching England last night this was very absent.

They have had this drilled into them from a very young age, so that it becomes second nature, and this is reflected in those sides who have been successful in the UEFA/FIFA under 16 to under 21 championships and is panning out now in senior football. Spain have had 19 victories in these youth tournaments, and England..............ONE.

Unless we get it right when the players are young, how can we expect to turn it round when they are older, but there is not enough investment in the best coaching as shown by the following stats:

UEFA A and Pro Coaches
Spain 14,860 (and 750 hours of training required for a Pro licence)
Germany 6,570
France 2,588
Italy 1,810
Netherlands 1,137
England 1,010 (245 hours of training required for a Pro licence)

In business you have to invest to succeed, as has been seen by the demise of the UK manufacturing industry over the last 50 years, so why should football be any different?

Spain have never won the world cup, Italy only has a few more than us. They have won it four times. Flaw in the statistics.

What? do you really believe that? Yes, it does make a difference, but not enough to stop them winning the world cup, as Don Quixote said Spain have never won it and they have done well in the youth tournaments. So really it depends on how they play there and then, not on their past!

Does it really matter how many coaches we have if the PL just buy in ready made players from abroad?

Was it this season when Arsenal played someone in the PL and there wasn't an English player on the park!?

I agree entirely that Spain have never won it, but it is only in the past ten years that they have decided to invest in coaching. That has started to come to fruition in Euro 2008, which we failed to qualify for.

Here in England we spent the same time avoiding making a decision about whether or not to have a youth academy.

I've never heard so much shit in my life , we don't deserve to win the World Cup because of stupid little statistics ??? , we get behind our nation ! , you've got to be Scottish .

OK turn it round then, why do you think we do deserve to win it?

Just a thought, but I wouldn't think UEFA A and Pro licence holders would be 'drilling passing practice' into kids...

Nearly every school now (?) has a football club for kids attached, with dads and mums who have taken a basic coaching course doing the honours, and even local clubs (inc. BHA) taking half-term and holiday sessions...

Is it the chicken/egg conundrum?

Not enough coaches = No talent throughput

or

No talent throughput = Not enough coaches?

But the English game is about making a profit now. Add to that fact that more kids want to watch or re-create their heroes action on game-consoles rather than play and you're really up against it. Try as the FA might (though they're not exactly radical thinkers up in Solo Square)

If we ever get a crop of decent players, it's more good luck than good management.

Makes sense. We dont deserve to win it because we are not good enough, we are not good enough because we dont invest enough in improving young players.

I never said we deserve to or don't deserve to .We are in the World Cup for a reason , we destroyed the group stages and i think we have improved over the years exept lately we haven't played as good as we can but i think we have a decent shot at winning the world cup we could just do without the blunders , but i do not think statistics make us not to deserve the World cup .
